I guess the shuriken style spokes are the new “in” thing for wheels today.

Is it pronounced "sure-I-can" ?

I want it built to spec so I wouldn't be interested in an off the lot car. With the new luxury car tax here in Canada I am guessing a top trim z06 will be in the ballpark of 140k+ otd. For that kind of money for a Chev that will likely depreciate pretty hard once supply catches up to demand, I won't accept any compromises.

can't wait. sounds great and they gave it a proper redline. very curious on how it will compare to the 458s power to weight ratio.

regardless, the C8Z would destroy the 458. The Z will give some heavy hitter cars problems...

they can barely get regular c8's delivered, wonder when the the hell they will get z06's to customers.

It's turning out to be pretty epic.

I'd still take a 458 though. Or even an f430. Just something so much more special about a Ferrari.

2023 Corvette Z06 Convertible Teased As Company Hints At 8,600 RPM Redline

https://www.carscoops.com/2021/10/ch...0-rpm-redline/

The Corvette Z06 Convertible makes a brief appearance towards the end of the clip as its reflection is shown in a window.

We'll learn full details next week, but the normally aspirated engine is expected to have an output of around 617 hp (460 kW / 626 PS) and 480 lb-ft (651 Nm) of torque. That's quite a bit less than the old supercharged 6.2-liter V8, which developed 650 hp (485 kW / 659 PS) and 650 lb-ft (881 Nm) of torque, but it's still a sizeable improvement over the standard model that has up to 495 hp (369 kW / 502 PS) and 470 lb-ft (637 Nm) of torque.

The 2023 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 will be unveiled on October 26th at 12 p.m. ET

so the C8 Z06 is a downgrade from the C7 Z06? I wonder how well that's going to be accepted by Corvette enthusiasts

Define downgrade. How many people wouldn't trade a supercharged V8 for a flat plane crank mid-engine N/A V8 with 9k RPM redline? Sign me up!

well most people(not true car enthusiasts) only care about the HP, so if it loses HP going to the next generation I can see people being upset. But you are right, it will be a much more exciting engine.

c7 z06's dyno what ? 550whp and was advertised as 650

so this c8 will probably dyno 520. really just depends on how heavy they make it. the current z51 is surprisingly porky at 3600 pounds

hope the c8z is lighter but i doubt it.

SAE crank horsepower is what's advertised for GM vehicles. I've seen no data that indicates they aren't making SAE advertised HP. My LT1 dynos just over 400hp to the wheels, which makes it petty much on spot with the drivetrain losses and advertised SAE horsepower.

You should see some(minority) of the old fart C7 Z06 owners already trying to talk shit on the Vette forums. They don't get their beloved Corvette finally got a touch of European and a touch of class. All they care about is the good ole boy Murica ponies. This quite literally might end up being one of best NA engines ever put in an American production car. Mid engine sports car with dual clutch and 8500+ rpm flat plane crank V8 for well under $100k. What is there to complain about?

no argument but in a price to performance ratio there are few(if any) cars out there that will touch it I'm willing to bet.

It doesn’t need as much power to be a better car due to proper engine placement. How do you think 911s keep up with 100 less hp? Base 992 911 performs fairly similarly to a C8. I realize pricing is different.

Well that and Porsche under reports hp like most Germans. The 992 CS is realistically pretty close to the C8 in terms of real hp.
