There is a great video on YouTube if I can find it. It concentrates solely on Nico Hulkenburg's eye movement for an entire lap. The number of times Nico checks his mirrors is unbelievable!!! I would think most F1 drivers are just as capable or they wouldn't be alive.
Not quite the video I was thinking of but still INTERESTING!!!!

Speaking about Checo at RB, any thoughts on whether he should be retained or replaced?

I expected more from him, given his experience.

I can say that mirrors on open wheel cars aren't particularly useful, especially when traveling in a bend at that speed. Max likely had a pretty good sense of where HAM was.

If it was one of our races, it would have been ruled HAM's fault and he would have been DQ'd and likely suspended for a race. Our rules state that it's the overtaking driver's responsibility to complete a pass safely, and contact to the rear wheel/quarter panel area that causes damage and/or deviation from the line is a textbook 'punt' and would result in the aforementioned penalties. Obviously...F1 has different rules
Your comments that "Max likely had a pretty good sense of where HAM was" is unfounded and foolish....VER pinched off the apex and closed the door on HAM who was NEXT TO VER....so perhaps VER should return to Driving 101 and use his mirrors

The assumption that a Formula 1 driver has enough spatial awareness to have a good idea where a car he's battling with is positioned is "unfounded and foolish"

You Hamilton fans are something else...

Not so much Hamilton fans but more on someone in here, regardless on who they support, saying than an F1 Driver should go to Driving 101.

Give him one more year, The new car might suit his driving style better. Dude can drive but probably doesn't like the car.

It’s going to be a very interesting weekend.

Lasers shooting out of Max’s eyes, Bottas seemed interested.

Why’d Max turn in on him then? Besides thinking Lewis would back off again?

Had to scroll up to see you weren't talking about Danny Ric. They're both struggling, but I'd be shocked if they didn't turn it around

Agreed, also he’s the only second driver since RIC to win in a RB in quite awhile. Plus he’s given Max some support here and there. I know the other two want The Hulk, but he’s not driving in F1 for a reason and no team seems too interested in him for those reasons. Nothing against the Hulk as I like him to.

Most likely.
Hamilton has shown good sense in the past to back out of situations where Verstappen was making his trademark "pass or crash" manoeuvre...going on to win championships.

Using the sort of pragmatic intelligence that Verstappen so clearly lacks.

Both Ham and Vettel are now sticking their noses into Hungary's political business. It's none of their F* business to publicly speak out while driving in a different country on a subject that concerns a lot of childrens parents.

Vettel? That's surprising , doesn't strike me as someone who bothers much with politics

Lately he's turned that way into a 'save the planet warrior,' anti pollution and now other political things doing it for self promotion I think, suspicious as five minutes ago he was wanting V12's back in F1.

He didn't.
Max turned his steering wheel because a 300kph+ corner was coming up
(corner...means the straight ends.... means turning the steering wheel....)

He left room for HAM.
HAM decided to not use that room and didn't follow a racing line. The FIA was very clear on that.

You can also see that in the difference in how HAM placed his car in Copse when he tried to overtake Max and how he tried to overtake LEC.
