With all the stuff that's going on around the world right now....I don't see injectors dropping in price for a very long time.

If someone was smart, they would start up a company that could rebuild/clean/inspect injectors.........but who knows, maybe there are places out there already doing that?

I paid $3,500 for my car....I'm not paying $2,600 for new injectors....

Yeah I had that thought to although I still expect them to perhaps go back to the ~ 320$ price.

Actually FCP carries GM Remanufacturing injectors that are reman and cheaper, in fact this is probably the route I will go for the next ones. As you can see though, they go out of stock like hotcakes. I think this will be my next option.

https://www.fcpeuro.com/products/bmw...ring-855-12101

And yeah, I paid mine like 15k so it hurts less I guess to invest in a 2.5k$ fix. I can see how in your situation you wouldn't want to dump that much tho.

Not just you. When I checked FCP Euro for some in 2020, they were like $1200. Now, they are $2600. With supply chain issues im sure they would've gone up slightly but this is highway robbery.

FYI BMW South Atlanta still has them for $331 (https://parts.bmwofsouthatlanta.com/...8gUGFnZQ%3D%3D)

Won’t help when ordering via FCPEuro / ECS, but you should be able to get your local dealer to price match. Worse case you can always order from them as well.

$430 for a single injector is absolutely INSANE!

All I can say, is im glad mine have a lifetime warranty. With prices this high, I don't think i'd consider anyone but FCP.

I'll definitely be waiting it out until prices come back down to the reasonable $1600 area.

Sounds like someone smarter than me needs to figure out a way to use a different brand injector in place of an OEM.

N55 injectors will fit an N54 head, right? Same plug, fuel line, and the early n55 came with the same style hpfp.

There’s gotta be a way to tune the N54 to run on an n55 style injector. Especially since a set of n55 injectors is like $600…

I think the new "reasonable" normal price is going to sit around 300-350 and will never go back lower than that.

Definitely not. Completely different shapes and lengths.

They also run at a lower pressure. The injectors flow more though. It would require an extremely extensive rewrite even if you could get them to fit.

Does the injector seal in the injector bore? A bracket could be made. I’m just spitballing ideas here. Not a whole lot of info online comparing the two directly other than piezos vs solenoid.

If that's the case, $200 in the grand scheme of ownership isn't terrible. I guess it really depends on how long I end up keeping the car. Hard to match the fun and usability this car provides with another.

I remember seeing a thread probably a year ago about someone mentioning how they expected some sort of aftermarket injector setup to be available soon…nothing like that yet? It doesn't make sense no one has even tried. Someone could make a killing if they figured out how to do it even if they sold each injector for $200 each.

I have seen one or two people delete the DI system and run just PI, how extensive/ expensive is this?
