Well, since Dinan is charging $449.00 for the NA models. Which is a hose clamp, some clothes dryer duct, some sheat metal, and a snazzy nameplate that you rivet to your stock box. Prepare to open your wallets, the 335 model looks a bit more fancy

FWIW: I had a similar "snorkel" air cleaner for the Dinan supercharger on my '95 M3, mounted low, behind an open duct (on a lowered car) I never once had an issue with contamination getting by the filter. I changed it anytime I went under the front end for suspension work, major service and the last time during a clutch upgrade. No probs at all. Never. I just hope the new one has a reasonable cost / benefit ratio. I WOULD like to know if a re-flash will be required to maximize the performance gains.

Maybe I'm wrong, but with a sufficient intercooler, it seems like a cold air intake may be unnecessary. I'd rather spend a couple hundred extra on the IC to get whatever the best one available is and only have one install to worry about.

Yo vase330:
The behind-the-splitter snorkel was an integral part of the supercharger kit. There was never an intercooler for the '95, 3.0 liter engines. Mine went from 240 - 342 crank, which included bigger injectors and bigger throttle body, and an old school chip. About $7K as I recall. |
