Not at all mate.. Cracking time, especially for a soot chucker.. I tried a couple of runs with the rear seats out in mine before to try and break the 12's and you can defo feel the difference and a worth while mod if you are wanting to get those last couple of 10ths. Only problem was I fooked both my runs up and was slower LOL..

Im not competing with Tony, his car is much faster than mine.
I didnt mention the tyres as there not a new mod, Ive ran them the past 3 times ive drag raced. Everyone at UK7 new i had them so whats new now? That picture im afraid is from February, No 888's on the car there and the seats have always been installed every single run ive ever done. The back seats are down (not out), i have always done this since my drag racing days started in 2005 in my E36. A tip that was offered to me when I was 20 and Ive always done since, Prob makes fuck all difference really. Do you guys think i should remove the seats for the 12.9 run? Do you think it would make the difference. In all honesty i really want to do it with the seats in.

About 40kg for the rear seats mate....
Remove your passenger headrest as well for a couple more.... borrow a lighter helmet if they still make you wear em at the Pod... Matt |

You basically need the car as light as possible Carl, so the least amount of stuff in it the better. Even small nik naks all add up to a couple of kg's

Yeah, but I rekon it would be hard removing the rear seats in all honesty. I also heard it will rattle like a bitch was re-installed.
Like I said, maybe as a last ditch attempt i may do so. But i have few other things i would like to try first.

What you need is soft rear suspension and rock hard front suspension, so deflate your rears to about 25psi and inflate your fronts to about 48psi, if you had adjustable suspension then even better. The car needs to squat at the back and push down into the tarmac to put down it's power, with a stiff rear set-up it will spin more. At the front the car needs to lift as little as possible so firm suspension and highly inflated tyres will help. The other option you could try is skinny front tyres/alloys, less resistance the better. Rememeber that all the front wheels are doing is being pushed along by the rears, so the less drag the better. Failing all of that then visit Evolve and get my map put on......job done with your set up Jules. |

Yeah I would leave the seats in mate and run as road trim, that's why I haven't bothered doing mine since me messing those runs up. As all you will get is " Yeah but that was with your seats out!"..
Obviously had good conditions on sat mate and a great launch/60ft (which I will be amazed if you beat that again unless on slicks) and as I said great time.. |
