AR Design. We know you have a superior product. Those who have the bucks to spend will go for your downpipes. Now those who are more on a fixed budget and don't have a lot of money for mods the VK and ebay pipes are more their flavor. Now... someone just has to buy these and test them. Maybe I should jump into it. I was going to buy a set of UR Catless DP from another member but I may just try these out instead.
I also have easy access to a dyno as well. With my old dyno results we will see if these have given any gains at all. ![]()

The black friday price of $560 offered by **********s sounds like the price it should have been from day 1 IMO. If you compare AR dps to Macht Schnell (bigger company with very good reputation for quality) and CP-E (expensive cast bellmouth), I don't see a reason for paying more than either of those companies, so $560 sounds about right!

OK, so about 20 different people have chimed in on this thread....
Why don't we all throw $10 in and buy a set "as a group", have someone we all trust install and dyno them, and then we will all know... |

This thread grew a lot while I was away, glad it is mostly civil. There is a place for expensive downpipes and a place for cheap ones. Who is going to test these for us?

The ebay stuff gets crapped on by the aftermarket tuning houses here in America for good reason, some of the time. That said, there are products they make that work very well, as well or better than the local guys that charge 5-10x more. An example of this would be some of their turbo headers for various cars. I've seen some of them literally fall apart after a month of use, and I've seen my buddy make 900 whp on his 2JZ header for over a year now, with many 9 sec passes and it's holding up just fine. The header was $150 bucks and appears to make as much power as the $1500 ones...and has been 100% reliable so far.
I paid 900 freaking dollars for my catless DPs when they were first released and they fit like crap. I made them work, but I had to modify my exhaust, they rattled against the subframe all the time, and hit something down there on hard left hand turns. I was told a couple of times that it was install related, which is total garbage.

although i'm in the process of getting your dp, you being in every dp threads out here on e90post to defend your product or to bash any other vendors/company as one of supporting vendor doesn't make your business look good (and i'm sure i'm not the first to mention this). if your product is indeed superior, you don't have to mention the same thing yourself million times. we as customer much rather to see and hear that from your actual customers not from the vendor. if i were you, i'd stay away from replying every single post like this to answer why your product is superior. you as a vendor advertise on vendor section, let us as customer, freely discuss our opinion on this section. this is public forum and you don't have to persuade every single people out there... we indeed know you do make quality product, hence cost more... i don't see any other vendor posting up in the same manner you do on this forum... just my .02

+2 i dont bash either and i know how much this shit costs you i used to work Cnc machines and make custom parts for companies like Certainteed and this is def not costing you $500 per set and your only making a profit of $200 a set.To be honest you say you don't support BMW tax but i know you do because something like your dps will cost.
1. Lets say 10 feet of T304 ss......Brand new cost $10 (scrap yard cost maybe $2) 2. Some good sturdy flanges anywhere from $20 -$30 each 3. A guy that can read blueprints and weld in a straight line $17 an hour so what do you get about $200 worth or material and labor .BMW tax and being a douche priceless

Ok I'm going to chime in on this...
Someone brought up intercoolers and I've been through a few cars now before getting my BMW so I have quite a bit of experience in the matter.. I can tell you right now.. there is a PREMIUM for buying BMW parts for some reason.. FMIC of good quality can be found for a lot of other car brands out there but come on, not one person here can tell me that you need to pay 1100+ for a intercooler when you can get a FMIC for a SRT-4 or a Mustang (two cars that I've owned and turbod" for under 300.00.. And as far as quality, I've never heard anyone that has issues with the intercooler they bought at this price point.. ![]() Downpipes.. 750.00 come on.. are you on drugs?? a downpipe, even though there's only one, run about 200.00 or so for a SRT-4 and it's quite a bit larger pipe in length.. And again I've NEVER heard of anyone having issues with their downpipe.. If you want my opinion.. I believe that people think that because you bought a BMW you either A) Companies think you have a shitload of money and will pay the extra money for parts B) Companies are telling BMW owners that they HAVE to spend a premium for their parts because that's the only way they are going to get quality "BMWish" products C) BMW owners are stupid and won't go the extra mile to look for lower priced products there ARE other alternatives out there.. although for some products I believe you get what you pay for.. but at the same time, be smart about it.. I'm not to the point where I want to do major upgrades on my car but I know that when that time comes I'm going to shop around and I doubt very much I'll spend almost 2k for a couple downpipes and a FMIC..

throughout years, from thirty-fourty bux cheap-ass intake for civic to few thousand dollars appliances, i, for one, have been a buyer on ebay for many items and automotive parts.
however, some people would much rather pay bit of premium for a trouble free gurantee and service that comes with the premium brand product, especially when it comes down to automotive parts. dinan ecu upgrade for bmw 335i is good example of this many can agree with. people know that it comes with hefty price tag for less performance than JB3 or Procede but some people still want to stay within dinan because of warranty and so forth. for many bmw owners, it's not worth to save few bucks considering the risk on ebay parts or cheap parts that are not proven. that's why so many people are suspicious on $200 dp or $400 ic. hell, i even remember so many people doubt vk dp will be legit in the beginning stage or groub buy (some even worried that the vendor will take money and disappear). with some proven results on these cheap, inexpensive after market parts that are available through ebay and many other online parts. we might be able to save further. we all gotta agree more choice and more competition on the market benefit us more, whether that's dp, ic or whatever...
