Map 5 is certainly suitable for daily driving. 7.... ehhhhh, probably not the greatest idea but it's your car.

The DCI was the first thing I bought for my car. When I told my buddy I got one, he replied "Welcome to the dark side" haha

Are there water bypass valves/systems for BMW intakes? I know it will take away from the sound but I'd rather be safe than worry about hydrolocking. I'm particularly looking at the BMS DCI...

The BMW, VISHNU, INJEN DCI's all sit at the top of the engine bay... If your worried about hydrolocking with those installed i have to ask, and I'm not trying to be a smartass but, are you driving through 4 feet of water on a daily basis? That is the only way you are going to hydrolock with one of those intakes. In order to really be worried about Hydrolocking, you need to have a CAI like the STETT or UR CAI installed which is routed towards the bottom of the car, and be driving through 1-2 feet of water. Bottom line, you do not need a bypass for DCI's... But if your running a CAI then you might want to look at a bypass, but like I said, if your not driving through water 1-2 feet high, there is no need
