It was ... on the performance car test. Only 0.1 of a second though ... so not enough to make me go to the smelly pump

It's definitely 'some' quicker compared to slower cars.

i couldnt be arsed reading 5 pages but EVO magazine recorded 0-60 in 5.7 secs in a e46 330i. so if you nail the start they are pretty fast to 60. which is probbably why he was running you even.

I had an E46 330i and it would run a 335d neck and neck to 60, if not be a little quicker. I suspect that the 335d would begin to get the legs on it after that. It certainly wouldn't kill it. I believe Autocar timed the E46 at 5.9 to 60.

And these last couple of pages have been classic! Keep up the good work!

I had an 04 330ci, but the one I had was a "club sport", some cosmetic mods and 20kg lighter having removed some material from the exhaust system (supposedly), it was stiffer, lower and had a better stance, noisier too.. but quicker? not really.. I do however miss the smoothness of 330...

I had an E46 330Ci and it was a rapid car. Sounded much nicer than the current (and my) 330i today too. Have also driven a 335d for a day; it's faster than the E46 330Ci. However, having owned 2 E46 M3s in the past, most definitely faster than a standard 335d (or certainly the one I had for the day).

Incidentally, BMW show the 0-62 of an E46 330Ci manual as 6.5 seconds on their AUC section with the current 330i at 6.0, 335d 6.1, E46 M3 5.2. Go figure...!

0-100? Don't know (or really care!).
