My brother is withswiftcover, just been rear ended and they have been pretty good to be fair.
They were over half the price cheaper than the next best for him.

They were also under £400 for the 123d, but they are not mod friendly, so I had to go with someone else at £670 who were, alot of companies were quoting me nearer a grand.
The madness was I was paying £450 for the M3 and come renewal a 2 litre 4 pot automatic diesel was more expensive!!

Thanks Chaps, although I do have this charade with Privilege most years. I threaten to leave, they offer a 'loyalty' type discount. Wankers. This year could be different

Interesting post boys....

I'd personally give aviva a call... they've done a great quote for me.

19, Licence held 1 Year (actually 18 months but had to put 1 year), 1 Year no claims, No offences or claims, 10k miles - £1472 + 2 months free

That's on a 318d though....Interesting thing was, as soon as i put in 320D, nobody would quote

Having said that, my current Volvo when i first got it £3700 with Zurich.

Suppose it all depends on postcode....

Hey lads, glad i found this thread, if only for the moan....

Privilege last year was £650 for the year, with free business use. They then added £135 for the tuning box 2 month's into the policy...

My renewal has just com through at £1400!!!!!

I've hunted what seems to be everywhere, and aviva will do me for £950, but on a 8'000 mile policy, with a £550 excess, and social only use...

Here's the sucker though, i am looking for only 8'000 mile policies, as i have other cars, i'm 29 with 10 years no claims, 6 points, and a fault claim 4 years ago. I also live in one of the best areas CH5, and the car is garaged!! I hate insurance!!

Tried, all i can think of, flux, a plan, compare sites, greenlight, axa.....
One left, Chris knott, but i ain't holding my breath.

just got my car and have gone through the renewal at the same time, so it is a fresh year and I paid £1500 for the insurance. I am 24 with with 4 years no claims, no points and putting in for windscreen damage and a bump that was the other parties fault. During the quote I decided to change my year of birth to make it look like I was 25 as I have heard people say it drops at that age and they would have insured me for £1150, scandalous really but it was one of the factors I took into account when buying the car and it wasn't a big enough obstacle to stop me buying and I am happier for it

Just had the missus' 5er renewal. Gone up from £375 to £425 (direct line). Still a sizable increase on a low premium for no policy change.

Every year I have to say I am leaving / do a new quote to get the retention team to do a deal.

Oh, and I also have to add on my recent 3 points

In 17 yrs of driving i have ALWAYS beaten my renewal by at least 100 pounds. Never renew, insurance companies rely on people's laziness.
Much easier nowadays with price comparison sites.

I also found Admiral were fairly receptive to mods.
Like many now you can tick boxes in the online quoter and see what happens.
The results are unpredictable and the model they use is flawed so experiment and save

However, the premium on the 335i was significantly cheaper than my S2000 and little less than my R26 and thats odd.
Less than £370 for two of us full and full NCD with two faults in three years.
I am in THE best code mind next to the Scottish Islands, TA6

Same for us I am afraid, we were paying around £450 and it went up to £650 and nothing changed. Managed to get it cheaper but it was only the Admiral group that would do it. DL then did us a deal, not as cheap but it was just easier and I prefer DL.

Crazy world just done a kwik fit quote on a 320D Sport, 12000 Miles annual with wife as second driver 6 NCD and clean licence with 1 non fault accident fully recovered against each of us.

Comes up £700 with £300 access

Looks like A Plan wins with £450 and full 90days cover in europe

if I take out the claims it drops by over £100 with Kwik fit. So much for non fault accidents not affecting your premium. Whats more annoying each time when the accidents happened we where both parked up not moving.

if you wanna save money on your quotes you'v already received, add your father as a named driver on the policy, insurance normally goes down. (only if he doesnt hv any hits, claims)

I just renewed with Admiral for £460 on my M3. They originally quoted £600, but after I'd got a quote for £460 from Elephant, they matched it (apparently they're part of the same group of companies and have an 'agreement').

And this was with my wife's not at fault accident declared from Feb (in her car fortunately!).
