Today I was suppose to have work for 24 hours, but instead was given the day off. I decided to stay at work and do my depo lights. Got my old lights off and started swapping over bulbs to the depo lights (I assume that's the plan as the only instructions I have relate to informing me to remove zip ties, because appearntly we need instructions for that, but nothing else).
The turn signal holder on the stock headlights do not screw in to the depo lights at all. Completely wrong size. Then I notice the contact points on the depo turn signal light is also different from stock, so even if it did screw in, it still wouldn't work. So am I missing parts????? Was I suppose to buy another turn signal kit that will work with the depo???? I have searched the box, I have nothing for this. Would have been nice to know before I wasted what few days off I get to do all this. I have pictures up to that point, will post em later as I am a work computer. Well, gotta put everything back together I guess. |

I got the depo's with HID upgrade.
Here's the depo's next to my stock lights Here's the turn signal bulb in it's holder mounted on the stock headlights. It compresses an o-ring for the moisture seal. Here is the turn signal bulb in its holder attempted mounting on the depo lights The depo lights has a raised ridge around the whole that is too narrow for the turn signal bulb holder. It may screw in, but the raised ridge prevents that. I considered cutting out the ridge, but noticed the contact points on the depo's are different from stock. Stock lights....opposite of that contact is the other contact Depo lights contact points are just somewhat angled off each other. I'd guess I am missing the turn signal bulb holder? Because stock holders sure don't look like they'll work and that ridge is probably there to keep you from putting it in and trying to power it up. |

Do you mind to take a couple pictures of where the back of the low-beam HID setup??? Looks like the DEPO HID comes with the ballast only and no capacitors?? Is it built in already?? I am considering getting this but just want the housing. Since Mike@F1Autohaus lives only 20 minutes from me, I can have him hook me up with the HIDs easily...

and as far as the contact points on the bulbs, some bulbs have the points directly across, wheres others are slightly closer, ie 10 & 2. just depends on the bulb type #. i hope thats what you were referring to

Hey Guys,
I checked on that turn signal holder and it's the E-Spec bulb holder as these are E-Spec headlights. I am currently working on getting new bulb holders included with these headlights, I will work on a solution shortly. It would be a shame to have such a small part prevent you from installing an otherwise perfect replacement. Hang on and I will update all soon |

This is the IPB for my stock headlights turn signal. Item #10 is the bulb holder.
This is the IPB for a 2009/10 3 series. Is it an e-spec? I think item #12 or maybe 14 is the bulb holder, don't have the link up for the part names Nick, are you guys getting the part needed to me fast or should I be looking at taking care of this myself? I'd assume that if I had e-spec headlights on my car, then I wouldn't be looking at this kit and that it should have included the bulb socket that actually fits since anyone getting this kit does not have e-spec lights. With creativity, I think anything is possible. But honestly you want to do that to your ride? Since swapping headlights involves removing front bumper and shit, might as well do it with all the right parts and tools. Waiting is a virtue, but that's me.

ZKW
As far as I know you need to buy the bulb socket for use with head lights manufactured by ZKW. I think many halogen head lights are made by Valeo.

Hey Guys,
We sent an inquiry to DEPO about the turn signal bulb sockets, if you have the headlights now and want to get them installed, then I suggest ordering the OE versions from the dealer to get it in. We can send out the DEPO sockets if they provide them to us for the US Spec models later. |
