The board "learns" the keyfob remote. And the rearview universal controller should be able to "learn" the keyfob. And by the commutitive property, we can only hope that everything speaks to each other. The rolling code security feature may complicate matters though. Gimme a few days to figure it out as I am horrible when it comes to reading manuals.

Wow.... Not sure what this is gonna cost when no longer a "beta" product, but I should start saving for it.

Hey Shiv,

Is it still looking like we should be able to have XEDE map 1 (say, 91 octane) XEDE map 2 (say, 96 octane) and XEDE off (for stock map)??

Oh, and not to get TOO greedy, but are you guys in the process of sourcing a limited slip diff for the 335i . . . ?

Not too sure about a "power off" map at this point. Stock and regular performanc map isn't a problem though. It's also possible to have a knob that allows you to turn it one way for less power and the other way for more power. The only hassle is running that wire through the firewall-- hence the whole remote control thing.

I personally think that I won't ever touch optional maps even if on a keychain remote, so I'm all for shipping these ASAP without tons of niche features. Maybe I could envision needing an a$$hole mode (retatdation of stock power by 50%) for when reach XEDES grasp (GF says I'm driving like a psychopath, DL points), but I'm with the member that questioned the need for a debased performance mode when the car is reportedly so even keeled with XEDE. It seems like a NOS fetish, pushing a little red button for extra porer and what not (oh wait, that's just my horn).

i think the full time xede should be sold along with the remote control xede. it won't be hard to have both.

all shiv has to do is not put the remote on yours

if you want one, just drive out to him and get it installed

I think the main desire for the switchable maps is for situations where others are driving the car. A valet perhaps...

Also, it would be nice to be able to switch the unit into stock mode if I take it into a dealer for a non-engine related service. If they were popping the hood I would uninstall it but if they are replacing a wheel or something I might not bother.

I did recieve one PM from you earlier this morning and I have not had the time to reply to your questions. As for phones, we're in the process of calling back messages that have accumulated during the holiday break. It's our first day back in the office so please understand that we are trying our best. If you send a PM to Calvin@vishnu with your phone number, someone will call you back today.

holly crap, a small company who is providing an exclusive service to a very quickly exapanding number of consumers is having a little trouble waiting on you hand and foot?

its not like they have better things to do like perfecting their product and putting it into production or anything like that

The 335 will do better than that without much drama. In my S2000 I have outran numerous G35s and 350zs. I am convinced that the average 335 driver wouldn't have trouble with G35s or S2000s, at least until that new G35 coupe with 500hp rolls out next year

Now if I could only figure out how to make the damn 335 shift into 2nd in a hurry while I am getting on it. I am used to the 6 speed in the S2000 (which is WONDERFUL and fast) but the 6-speed shifter in the 335 is much more balky. When I shift it slow, it is perfect but when shifting fast, it has missed the gear entirely two different times so far.
I think he is referring to the Nissan Skyline with 500hp, but I think it will be more like 450.

I love the idea of the remote control to switch the maps and especially linking it to the homelink buttons on the mirror. I was imaginging using button 3 on my mirror this AM and came up with an idea that would make it even cooler, but probably impossible. I was looking at the little LED display in the mirror that shows the compass position and thinking how cool it would be if you could have it display the map setting when you pushed the 3rd button. That would be total integration.

So it could say S for Stock, 1 for map 1 and 2 for map 2 (or just 1 and 2 if we can't get an "off" setting).

What do you think?

Hahahahahaha....
No Buddy i think you should relax.
All i said is that i tried calling and sent a Pm and no one answered.
It's like everytime someone says something slightly off topic or not to your liking you go ahead and blast them.
You should check yourself before commenting on others.
And as for Shiv and his company i think they are great and i understand that they are a little overwhelmed but a simple reply would suffice.
