Power @ 5250 is ~485 hp. Torque @ 5250 rpm is ~660 Nm, which is ~487 lbf-ft. 485-487=-2. That is zero, keeping in mind how we got the numbers @ 5250 rpm (from the graph). FAIL Another sleepless night?

Yes, indeed
I honestly don't think my car makes 439whp. But I don't know what happened that evening. There are no hard facts proving that was some kind of mistake so far. All the other cars made as much power, as they should have or even less. But, as I mentioned before, let's say I made 385 whp.

And power is calculated from torque, right?

It's your second time. First time 85whp difference, now different dyno runs

Which is more power:
100 ft. lbs of torque at 5,000 rpm or 167 ft. lbs at 3,000 rpm Last edited by biz77; 09-27-2010 at 04:55 PM.. |

So much of launching an RWD car is slippage control. You want to run on the fine edge of traction, where there is just the slightest amount of wheel slip, but no actual spin. And you need to hold that condition for as long as you have the torque for it (like threshold braking, but the opposite). There's a lot of tenths to be had in the finest most minuscule amount of control at launch. Some people just have that skill. There's a lot of records that were set with a car driven by not the owner, because the owner knew someone else just 'had it', and he didn't. There are a lot of contributing factors, heat, track, etc. But regardless, usually put two drivers in the same car, and one will consistently put down better times than the other. And the consistency of which driver gets better times only gets more steady as the times approach the limit of what the car can do. Hotrod definitely was ahead of the crowd. I can't say that everything was legit or not, because I wasn't there. But I can say that if he's an exceptionally good driver, then I can see him making us plebes look slow. -scheherazade |

We all know that 439 hp with your mods is IMPOSSIBLE! Yeah I said it, didn't stutter either........
385 hp seems more like it, and I think the OP finally realized it as well, no matter how you slice the pie. Please close this thread, I'm tired of laughing my @ss to sleep every night reading this......LOL!!
