Bumpers?

How about the 2006 BMW assist owners who do not get 4 years of BMW assist included? Or what about next couple of years when the 335i has a new front bumper and we don't?" ![]() The CURRENT schematics and tech manuals indicate very clearly, that the Sport 335i, regardless of Step or stick, sedan or coupe, should have the cooler. The responses E90Post.com members have received from BMW clearly spell this out as well. 2nd, the cars that don't have coolers are reported by their owners as being run at 240-280 + degrees (or more,) on a routine, cool temp driving days. No one has even had the pleasure of testing one in Death Valley… The cooler equipped models are being reported as running in the 210 -220 range. Since there are no reported engine or mechanical differences in the pre Dec 07's and those built later, than it is not an issue of mid-year changes, down grades or other items. It also stands as common sense that since no BMA bulletins’ telling us all to shut up, we don’t know what we’re talking about, well then, we know there IS a problem. They have ALREADY admitted it. Lastly, it stands to my reasoning, that if I’m hitting 260 – 280 degrees at 57 degrees exterior climate temperatures, than if I were to rough this baby out in the desert, even Las Vegas, there is going to be a serious problem. There is no where to go from 280, but limp mode. Limp Mode on a desert day with infants in the car = a freakin’ disaster. |

And, if you look at the charts, the first thing to go down is the A/C, even before you hit engine limp... so, not only are you at a walking pace, but you have no air.. but you have "BMW Assist" to comfort you as you fry..

The dealer is often not aware of many problems unless they have a large volume of complaints in their dealership or the bulletin comes out. Even with the bulletin, they are not always read and reviewed the minute it is issued. My brother worked at multiple dealerships, and he was the exception to the rule since he would arrive early to review the bulletins before he spent next whole day with repair, preps, and the like. |
