Finally got the maps in using a mac on vwmare windows 7. Stupid the prolific driver didn't work on my windows 7 platform but did on a mac running windows 7. Whatever.

Car feels great. Easier to modulate throttle under low gear conditions and held boost perfectly. It does seem like it made the car quieter, especially on decel. Why could that be? I set my wastegates at 60. Does that make a difference?

Still can't read the Readme file; it opens all scrambled. Can someone email it to me or PM it to me?

Thank you!

I just reformatted it in simple .txt format. Download it again and you should be able to read it with any computer.

From the text:

6-1 v5 Beta maps with 106_4 Firmware

And after a few lines...:
-You must use the attached firmware with these new maps (pro5v104_2.bin).

And then:

-As with previous beta DIC maps, Autotuning and Procede traction/launch control are current disabled for the time being.

And after a few lines:

-Enabled Procede Traction Control. You can adjust the sensitivity by the Traction Threshold user adjustable. 100% turn it off. Lower values turn it on and make it more sensitive. I suggest running 30-40% which allows for some small bit of wheelspin before intervening and dropping boost.

The first is a copy/paste mistake wich is 2-3 times repeated (thats why readme first should never be copy pasted) what about the second?

Thanks Shiv.

Loaded new firmware/maps tonight before driving home from work. My experience is similar to others. More low end power, feels like it's pulling strong through the RPM range, nice power through the shifts (though maybe I was paying more attention and shifting more crisply).

Still loving the meth kit. Map 4 ftw!!!

Got to try out these new maps yesterday. Low end punch is back again, in 2nd gear DTC flashes all the time

The power delivery and the acceleration is very linear through the rpm range.

I would just like a bit more high-end power, as I don't get that extra "pushed back in the seat" feeling in the upper rpms. Or, to say it another way: I don't get scared enough

Looking forward to news on the rev.2b thing

I've tested these maps in 100F track temps without throwing a single code on 93 pump gas. Power is amazing, especially in part throttle conditions. You really have to be careful with gear selection and feathering the throttle coming out of turns, or you'll easily get way too much power too quickly. I found myself leaving it in 3rd for some of the slower turns just to help keep power/torque in check. The best part is that the car felt consistent for the entire session. It never felt like it was losing power as the session ran on, and these were 30 minute sessions.

Sweet! Would be nice to know what your settings are for traction control for track, with the nannies fully off.

For this last track event I left the Procede traction control to 100%, boost was at 11psi (for heat and octane reasons), and I turned DTC only partially off (IE one button push off).

Because there are not hard hard 1st to 2nd shifts on track (IE not drag racing), and you should always practice controlling power with your foot, I decided to leave the Procede traction control off. I just feel it's a better way to learn how to handle the car. For the car's DTC, I typically don't fully turn it off because the car doesn't have a limited slip (obviously), and it most definitely needs one. The single button off intercedes just enough to keep the car feeling neutral through high speed bump turns. There is one particular long sweeping highspeed turn that I always felt DTC kicking in, mostly because the track has just enough unevenness to unsettle the rear end of the car as your driving through it. If the car had a LSD, the power would always be smooth to the rear wheels, because it doesn't and because I still have a stock sport suspension, there is just too much "bounce" to keep the tires hooked up properly through the turn. So the DTC helps keep the rear end from breaking away through the turn, even though I'm only part throttle through most of the turn.

Once I upgrade the suspension and diff to a LSD, I will most likely have the nannies OFF OFF.

Your gonna need some upgraded turbos to keep that back in the seat fell at higher RPMs. Take a look at virtually every N54 dyno and the TQ falls off mid range. The only dyno curves I've seen where this doesn't seem to happen are some of the RB turbo upgrades (maybe you could get a flat TQ curve on stock turbos, but would likley have to give up low-mid RPM to get it safely)

Even if you have lsd, pushing the button only once, the traction light will still blink. That tells me it's too intrusive in any kind of unevenness. There won't be any drama if you turn dtc) dsc fully off.

Hmm, I remember I got that feeling more on V4 maps from a year ago. Could also be due that they had less midrange power.

RBs are on my to-do list (not for this year though) but I'm a bit held back by the fact that the stock AT can't seem to handle the torque on upgraded turbos. We've seen a few threads about tranny problems lately.

Maybe Shiv could build in some optional torque-limiting feature for gears 1 and 2 to prevent blown trannies?

I assume the line in the read-me that states load the appropriate 3-15 maps is also incorrect? LOL
