Have you personally done this? If so please post a pic of finished product.

An auto electrician has fitted some sort of resistor under the drivers seat and passenger seat but said he can't make head or tail of why they won't turn the lights off. And he doesn't have BMW coding. Please can someone help me I will pay top dollar for anyone in the U.K. To code out the seat occupancy mat or something just to turn the lights out on my dash so it will pass MOT. Someone pleeeeeaae help me

If you have a KDCAN cable, we can assist remotely.

which caused the infamous and very annoying "Passenger Restraint System Malfunction" error on the Idrive/OBC on my E93 335i 03/2007.

I figured out the correct way to do it because disabling the 2 x OC3 parameters, unplugging the 3 x wires Plug under the passenger seat and clearing the error memory with Inpa didn't clear out the errors.

I spent some time disabling other parameters and testing till I got it done at the end, The Passenger Seat Belt Sensor and Seat Belt warning also have to be disabled in order to clear out the error.

I have attached a photo from my Airbag/ACSM2.C09 ECU after having the errors cleared, with all the needed parameters to be Disabled,
Hopefully this will help someone fix this very annoying error too.

Cheers
Rogero.
Thank you Rogero, done that, no more errors in my wife's 118d 2007. Great post.

I just turned the damn thing off on my e90 335d 9/2007 Euro spec, worked perfectly! Thank you!

Short recap for anyone that's about to do this:

1. Code it out with NCS Expert by setting all the parameters stated in the image above to nicht_active
2. Disconnect the little 3pin connector under the passenger seat and tuck it in somewhere so it won't hang about
3. Read errors and clear them with INPA
4. Have a beer, you're done!

Excellent post by RogeroK, just saved my butt. I hate having the warning lights.

Mine is a 2009 335i convertible. The settings sometimes have slightly different names, for example, an extra "_1" here or a "_2" there, but they can still be easily identified.

Here are the ones that I changed to nicht_activ

SBE1_1 - Seat Occupancy Detection
OC3_1 - Seat Occupancy Detection
SBE1_STATUS_VERZ1 - Delay Seat Occupancy Detection
SBR_SENSOR_BEIFAHRER_1 - Passenger Seat Belt Warning Sensor
SBR_SENSOR_FAHRER_1 - Passenger Seat Belt Warning Sensor
SBR_BEIFAHRER_2 - Passenger Seat Belt Warning
GK/OC3/POL_1

My process was as follows

- Configure software. Important: set the port latency in advanced settings to 1 or you will see intermittent results - sometimes it would work but most of the time you will get errors

- Open NCSExpert and select the 'manipulate' profile

- Read the BABG module using NCSExpert by following the instructions in this thread (CODIRENDATEN_LESSEN). I like to save off the file with a description after it's read, just in case

- Load the FSW_PSW.TRC file in NCSDummy

- Find all those settings and set them to nicht_activ

Here I noticed that I have to play on which module I select in a dropdown there; only one of them, when you switch to it, would suddenly display checkboxes next to all the settings

- Save; this will create FSW_PSW.MAN file ("manipulated" settings I am guessing)

- Go back to NCSExpert, change job to SG_CODIREN, run job

- Finally, disconnect the sensor. It is a royal PITA to get to, in my opinion

- Clear errors

- Restart car

Key fob asking up

Hello does anybody know if there is a problem with my cas unit, for some reason the key fob stops working after about 6 mins after which I have to unlock the car by the driver side with the manual key inside the fob which then for some reasons makes the key fob work again so I can press the unlock button to disable the alarm and get in.. All the central locking everything works fine just that is a hassle because if I’m at a petrol station by the time I fill the car pay for fuel the key fob would stop working so I’d have to do the whole procedure all over again.

It’s a 2009 bmw 320i auto

SBR_BEIFAHRER_1 is the seat belt reminder for the passenger, which needs to be disabled as the module assumes there's someone sitting in the seat & they should be buckled up.
This was on a 2010 E90 LCI (euro spec).
Hi,
unfortunately I have a bmw e90 2010 & out of the blue I had front passenger side belt tensioner code 93AA on, followed attached post and what you said above literally disabled everything related to passenger side airbag.

I still can not clear the code 93AA and airbag light from dash, I have coded out tensioner while its connected to main wiring under seat & cleared codes disconnected whole main wiring and cleared codes still no luck.

I am just having enough of this now wasted three days, using i7 laptop with ncs, inpa, ista, ncs dummy !!

I will really appreciated any help
TIA

I have this airbag / belt errors after I do a code car with ncsexpert, i wan't to fix it, not to disable the warnings, anyone can help me? what can I check? I have a backup of the trc file but I don't know why when all are running fine I already have OC3 settins at nicht aktive. The car comes with the sport seats, how it's possible? Thanks.

I added my trc file of the abg module, if it helps....still showing the errors with all the codes that I see in this post to nicht_aktiv....

Bought new sensor mat and replaced myself.
My convertible has a lot of connectors at the front of the passenger seat. I didn't see anything in the rear. Can you tell me which one from my picture?

Attachment 2640372
I figured it out, it's under neath the seat in the rear. I raised the seat the whole way up to help get underneath and with a mirror was able to find the black connector and unplugged it.

Can anyone confirm if by doing this the airbag will fire in the event of an accident?
