Years ago when I was even poorer than I am now; I wanted to lease a new Civic (don't ask) or something in that class. Going around to every dealer; they said this is the deal take it or leave it... you are paying full MSRP with that lease deal.

That article made it seems so horrible...it really depends on the management and where you work. That dude sold 3-4 cars a month because, he works for a domestic dealership...lol...im gonna go out on a limb and say it's 10x easier to sell a Camry than a ford Escort or some sort....There are times when i was new, that the veterans would step on my feet and steal my customers...but as your time there goes by, mutual respect is given on how well you do. then i had a lot of internet and phone up customers so i had set appointments.

This job isn't for everyone, but sales is one of the highest paying job if you're good at what you're doing...how would you like to take home 2 grand in just 2 hours of work on any given day? i've done it couple times, and the schedule is very flexible once you establish yourself as a great seller, you can take as many days off as you want. i go on vacation every 3-4 months

Almost every time I buy a new car the salesperson complains they are only making like a hundred bucks off the deal after it's all said and done.

Did you expect them to say: "Awww Yeaaah I'm banking on this deal. $2K right in the bank homie!"... ?

They shouldn't complain to the customer but take it up with their boss instead.

Does it really matter if you buy at the end of the month/year? I'm starting to look for a new car and am wondering when is a good time to buy.

No, but seriously, spool fucked her. She probably put her finger up his ass while he was banging her too. If you're new here, don't worry... Spool likes that.

You really profile people from Spain ? It's hard to believe that would be a high volume country of origin.

That is a myth, you can get aggressive prices any day if you know the value of the car and what others are willing to sell for. But, from what i've seen, rainy weekdays are the best time, it'll be slow, they'll desperate, and will get you a good deal.

I'm Chinese and I hate dealing with Chinese people. No matter where you work as long as you're in sales or customer service, Chinese people are some of the most rude, cheap, stingy, disgusting people you will ever meet.

Of course this isn't speaking for all, but I'd say at least half.

Oh, and if they know you're Chinese they will try to get acquainted with you in hopes of getting a good deal. -_-

Depends on what i sell, a new corolla or camry i get 150-250 (depending on what else they buy in finance, i get 5% of the back end)

SUVs like highlanders and sequoias ... 400-800 depending on how much profit on the front end

sometimes i get a landcruiser deal, they are hard to come by, i can make as much as 2000...

used cars is where it's at, we mark up the cars here 5K on avg, so each used car i sell, i make anywhere from 500-1000.

that's just the commission i make, then there are cash bonuses, each 5 cars you sell, you get 250 bucks cash bonus, 200 bucks each week if the car you sell has the most gross in it. Then xmas bonus, they give me 10 bucks per car i sell throughout the year...that's a company thing.

then, the year end bonus, this is from Toyota, for each car you sell during that calendar year, you get 40 dollars per car, if you sell more than 150, it becomes 50 a car, more than 200 you get 75...so huge bonus if you do well..

i sell on avg 15-25 cars a month depending on how hard i want to work and how many vacations i take.

Honestly, it's mainly the older generation folks and fresh off the boat people that still believe America is the land of opportunity.

First generation Asians normally aren't like that. I guess it's a culture/mindset thing.

When our parents came, there were lots of job, houses were 1/5th of the price it is now, everything was affordable. Since then, many immigrants came, and jobs get saturated, people are willing to work for less, and the economy is in a shit hole. We are slowly climbing back up though. I wouldn't live anywhere else in the world though

Speaking of used cars. I may be in the market to pick up a used car in the near future. Of the used cars I've bought I've always done private sales, but I also had a ton of time to look around. This time I may need the car in a hurry so I'll likely end up at a dealership.

What would be a good buying tactic? Should I just look at a price and always offer $3k under the sticker? Looking for a A4, 3er xi, X3 type car with around 70k miles and willing to spend about $15k or less with a decent amount down. It's pretty much an interim car.

I was just going to look online find a few cars I like go check them out and just throw lowball numbers at the sales guy. Basically if the cars listed at $17k, I'd offer $13k or something like that.

Any thoughts or advice you are willing to share?
