Sorry, my phone doesn't take the best pictures.
This picture doesn't do them justice. The lights are MUCH more defined then this photo shows. In person, the center rings are clearly visible.

Any luck figuring out a solution to dim these at night? I'm intrigued, but I don't want to be dazzling other drivers or pissing off cops, and I do a lot of night driving.
EDIT: I also see that you were running GP Thunders at 13.7v. Any reason why you ditched that setup in favor of HIDs? Did they burn out?

That's not exactly true. You can mod the ballast to lower the wattage which effectively dims the HIDs. It's been done many times on bosch and denso oem ballast.

No, they didn't burn out. They worked fine and were pretty bright, but I didn't like the color.

Absolutely, you would just need to have a sensor wire coming from the head light.

I've read through the thread and so far it seems as there have been a total of one (1) person that have stated that the HID angels are too bright for night driving... Can anyone post more pics or confirm just how bright they are at night? |

this is really getting me confused...i thought it would be a simple plug and play sort of thing and i just ordered my hid kit off of amazon lol.
why cant hids be dimmed automatically and how long will hids last if i just plugged them straight into the original plug?

Hi guys... really good work... not exactly on topic but I wanted to ask if I need to code the PWM thing to my HID fog lights.
When I installed them, I ran into the problem where they would turn off after 30 seconds or so. I code out all the checks and what not bt I didn't do the PWM I don't think... To fix the problem, I read in another post someone ran 2 error cancelers on each side. So I did that and now everything works perfectly.... but for how long? The ballast I used is not a CANBUS one and the cancelers I used have a resister, a capacitor, and some small box inside all connected in parallel. Do I still need to code the PWM thing? |
