Is e85 more corrosive than gasoline? I'm tempted to update my firmware since the shell a block from my house has e85

2011 IS here and I have to say Map 5 is unbelievable compared to the old one. It pulls so freaking hard in 4-6 gears now!! Highway driving is even more fun than before! I've got plenty of logs to send Terry when I get the chance.

Haven't updated to 5/11 but I did thin out my 50/50 mix by adding exactly 1gal 91 when I had around a half-tank. Ran it tonight and it's pulling clean with no codes and no hesitation.
This was done in Manual mode shifting at 6200 rpm, also of note, the run is 0% slope. The 60-100 time was 5.4, so while under 70mph it's very comparable to meth, up top there is no comparison (meth 60-100 best 4.9). Haven't done map 7 since I got the vbox so not sure how it compares there. Car weight was ~4k lbs because I had a ton of baseball stuff in the trunk and all seats, but low fuel. If I had to venture a guess I would say minus seats and on low fuel this same map could do a solid 11.9x-12.0x @ 115 TUNE ONLY ! Not bad for readily available fuel, and cheap fuel at that. My best map 7 no seats run was 11.969@114.66 but that was in 45F weather. |

I think it's funny that we all have baseball stuff in our trunks. FYI I run an online baseball store that also has a brick in mortar in Atlanta. If anyone ever needs any stuff PM and I'll hook you up. We sell softball (slow and fast) as well. Better Baseball . com

Been about 60/40 the past 2 days and holy mother of god I have a new car. timed my 0-60 (i know no one cares) and it was around 3.7 seconds. 1st gear is obviously useless. 2nd gear burns the tires like first used to if you're not careful. Car pulls through every gear. It's fun.

Does anyone with fbo running the new map 5 also have a cobb? If so how does it compare to Stage 2+ aggresive? I'm getting impatient waiting for a meth map and might just have to buy me a jb4. Plus I already run 60/40 91/e85

Only running 5.11 firmware, DCI, and 30/70 e85/93 mix and my car is brutal on the street.
I'm spiking 18psi boost trailing to 15-16psi at redline. Turbos spool right up and the power just pulls like a death sled freight train on the no bullshit highway. No CEL's, pings, sputtering or hesitation...just pure ferocity. Quite the upgrade for ~500 bucks. The difference is stupid. |

Mind you I just had a full turbos + oil lines replacements via CPO warranty in this car and was logging on a dry 45(f) evening. I have only run map 1 and 5 thus far. I am also scared of burning the clutch out...which is why I now ease onto the throttle to build steady boost before dropping the hammer. |

I ran a 12.2 @ 114 tune only + 40/60 e85/93 mix. From what I can tell it's basically the same as map 7 on race fuel, without the cost of race fuel |

FWIW: this is the response I got from Cobb
"Also note that E85 does not have the same lubrication properties as normal petrol does which could ruin the seals of your fuel pump and cause it to fail." |

I just wanted to chime in- now I'm not sure there is a correlation. I have been running E85 for about 4 months 50/50 on map 7. Car runs like a beast and seems smoother, but right now I am throwing LPFP codes. What happens is it feels like it is choking around 70-80 mph. This doesn't happen on every pull- I'd say 1 out of 3 pulls. The car is still running awesome on 93 octane and the 5/11 update. The car starts with no hesitation at all??
