What types of gains would we expect with race gas? I have easy access with 95 octane and 100. If I ran this with 91 octane tune what are the pros and cons

No significant gains possible without increasing compression, at least with 100 octane and up.

The only way to see true gains with race fuel is to tune the car to run 100% 100 octane and modify the timing to utilize the race fuel more effectively to increase horsepower. For street use I would recommend using a 50/50 blend which is 50% pump fuel and 50% race fuel with the tune we provide and get the slight performance increase with higher octane fuel without depended on race fuel for your next fill up.

Every car varies in Horsepower gains, they are numerous factors that come in calculating horsepower. The Most Power we have seen on our dyno is a 328i 6 Speed with headers and our Performance Software which was 220 WHP on a Mustang Dyno. You have to keep in mind the Software tuning touches every aspect from throttle settings, air fuel setting to valvtronic lift timing to hold all the way to redline. Your vehicle will pick up the horsepower gains the best way to always find out is to do a before and after dyno.

Would you guys ever do a transmission flash if there is a large enough market for it?

Sooo looking forward to getting the tune back in my car. I can definitely tell the difference without it. Hopefully the software update I had done yesterday (mine was 14 updates behind) will allow my car to take the AA tune without going into limp mode like it was doing.

Wondering what the next step is going to be if the soon-to-be-revised-and-reinstalled tune doesn't agree with my car. Some one suggested that I may need to replace the DME.

I would check with BMW on what Software updates were performed on your vehicle and ask for a print out sheet for your records. As for the vehicle going into limp I would take the car right back to them and complain that car after the updates runs into limp mode and have them correct the issue before purchasing our Active Autowerke Performance Software.

Unfortunately, it was an incompatibility issue between my car and the AA tune that sent it into limp mode, not the software update. I did the BMW software update in an attempt to resolve that incompatibility, which has persisted after that update.

I am working with Pedro at AA on a tune that will work with my car. We are doing a series of three tunes in an order of less aggressive to more aggressive in hopes that we will find the conflict.
