More info:

Terry says: "Here is a dyno vs. an OEM turbo car. Note OEM turbo car also has meth & intercooler so its more heavily modified."

That's 45whp on the top end! Possibly more with an intercooler

Nice... Not losing any torque or low end power... Might be worth it. What's the labor on changing the turbo?

Well if you swap out the whole turbo assembly which we don't recommend, it's more involved. Book time calls for something like 10 hours. But, we just swapped the CHRA+comp housing. It was easy. Could probably do it in 3 to 5 hours depending on the installer.

In a nutshell:

-Drain coolant
-Drop swaybar (4 nuts)
-Remove thermo housing (2 bolts, hoses)
-Remove water pump (3 bolts, hoses)
-Remove turbo intake and discharge tubes
-Swap turbo

There's a lot more details to it but that's basically what's involved. Here's a pic of everything that was removed to be able to swap the turbo:

This is with OEM diverter. The OEM diverter has 4 pressure bleed ports around the center of the valve. So it equalizes pressure on both sides of the diaphragm. This allows only the spring pressure necessary to hold the valve closed. Good design. Terry agrees that it doesn't seem to be a problem.

The customer's car is an e82 and our comapany car is an e90. If we get dyno results from a customers F series car, we'll let you know. However, expect the same type of results.

Did this car have the Flexfuel wires ? and I'm wondering how much of a difference the back end flash would have made....basically would a 2011 car make more power.

Yes the customer's 1-series had the flexfuel wires.

Look above at Terry's notes. He expects another 15whp with backend flash. Thanks

When did that ever happen? Fair pricing and Dinan shouldn't be mentioned in the same sentence.

But I'm sure you're joking on the 'fair price' statement......
