Do you have to ship them your ECU?

Went I looked for my clamps, I didn't like BMW prices and looked at what specs I needed and found these Audi clamps work just as well, less than half of BMW prices.
Looks like I need to buy 2 of them. Do you know the part number to the Audi clamps? Will have the pipe within a week, so I want to go to Mike's Muffler with all the stuff needed. And I assume you haven't had any issues with a smog test right? Thanks.

No problems with smog when I had my eisenmann midpipes which are identical to the AFE midpipes. This is my experience, I'm not responsible for anyone's action though, just saying.

Great. Will try to pick these up locally. Want to get this done before I leave on my trip. Thanks for the link.

I wouldn't pay a shop over $80. Reasonable is $60

I installed my BMW PE on Monday, it has gotten louder but still isn't loud enough for me. I'm so glad I came across this thread because I bought a set of these pipes. Once I install them I will post up videos!!

Please post a video!

I'd like to see how that compares to my AA exhaust with the BMW performance mid pipe.

my ecu has now 300miles with the PE+AFE pipes+bms pbx. the car sound has settled down with a tad more gurgle than stock PE alone. this is such a great combo and great value for the gains some guy did a dyno and gained 7 ponies alone with this combo+tune!!!
anyone buying the header? im still considering the header but the stage 3 manifold upgrade is cheaper/ horse power than spending 12 on the header.

stage3 im upgrade 1100 30+hp gain
header 1200 with 16hp gain

what's the difference between buying this "race pipe" + pay to install it, than just going to an exhaust shop, have the cats taken out and weld in 2 new pipes ( I know the cats are in the bend, but worst case scenario the exhaust shop will have to bend 2 pipes), so that's what maximum 2h of work and 50-100$ of parts, so under 200$ installed (and in my book that's worst case scenario, in the sense that if the shop can cut them before the bend and just weld in stratigh pipes after wards it would be <150$)

AFE is mandrel bend and very high quality, it might not be a difference if you have muffler shop just take the cat out. sure will sound louder, but it might not flow better.

if you have muffler shop weld up mandrel bended pipe might cost more then AFE, so might as well get the AFE.

if the shop can't cut the cats out before the bend, than obviously if they replace part of the pipes that are bend it would have to be mandrel bend, I haven't called but if the shop has the equipment I don't see how it could be more expensive than the afe pipes, guess I'll call and find out.

I'd rather pay more for afe pipes (which I did) so if I ever need to put the car back to stock it will be easier down the road. Spend a little more $$ now, save more later. Do it once, do it right. High quality pipes FTW. Catless midpipe FTW. Ok I'm done lolz.

To each his own, I rather pay as little as possible to get the secondary cats out of a 8 year old car that I'll sell before it hits 10, and not spend $$$ on a fancy pipe that will sit under the car.

That being said I didn't say to do it wrong, just if I can get same results (sound & performance) for less why pay more? that was my question which was answered.
