Well, well, well!

After being told that nobody expected it to be turned round before Christmas (and after coming to terms with having to put 800 miles onto the 535d over Christmas rather than on my car), Douglas Park BMW called this morning to say that my car's ready!

The software came in yesterday, was installed overnight and the car was driven by the service manager (a really nice guy actually once I had established contact with him personally, rather than some of the other memebers of staff with whom I had the initial problems) this morning and all is well. All that remains is for BMW UK to arrange delivery of my car back to me.

We shall see when that happens but I'm dreaming of an Alpine White Christmas!!

Congrats Ben... make sure though that BMW trailer your car down and don't drive it - you don't want them to put an extra 500 miles on the clock!!

Cheers Tony. Don't worry - I'm onto that already. Will also email BMW UK once I get it back (ie once I know exactly how long I was without it) to discuss refund of finance, compensation etc.

This assumes all is well with the car of course..... Will be giving it a thorough going over when I get it back.

Ben, Glad it's sorted and all you have to do is get it back, so it was the software problem then after all.

Hope you have a white christmas

Congratulations Ben.

You should have something coming in the post soon to go with your 'armchair'.

All the best.

Sorry if I confused a few of you there, "wife" is quaint colloquialism for "miswah"

Nice one Bumps - hope it's sorted!

Oddly - my engine warning light went out last night! Might have to pester my dealer to book in for the update if it's now released.

It's back!! Gave it a quick wash on arrival, and went for a quick spin, but will have to wait until tomorrow to give it a proper test.

Looks pretty small next to the E60 but it's nice to have my car back!
