use the pre-amp output of the DSP to drive the JL amp. that would be your G/H channel on the DSP.

I could be wrong, based on misreading the information, but is the pre-amp output of the PP82DSP the G/H channel? Or E/F/G/H? |

That brings me to my original question, can i use just channel "H" pre-amp output of the DSP as an RCA input for the JL 500/3 amp (using a Y-connector to give signal to all 3 channels). That will be mono and if i use channel 1-2 of the JL for the underseat woofers, will the mono signal affect the mid bass (between 50Hz - 200Hz)?

It should replace the OEM Hi Fi Amp
It should replace the OEM Hi Fi Amp(the helix unit)
Most people here would do it with a Technic Harness that plugs in right where the old amp is plugged in. You wouldn't have to run wires the length of the car unless you wanted a center and only for the center . But you would not get the Helix direct plugs. Technic is currently adding a center channel with these if you go back further in the thread. Looks like the Helix Harness is a compete new harness from the radio to the trunk . G and H
I have used the G and H outputs to run my JL Audio sub powered by a Kenwood amp. It works flawless with the software Audiotec provides too.

Match Software
Question regarding channels E n F on these channel's only my equalizer allows for every other frequency band of adjustment is this something that I could correct? My settings are as follows channel's A n B Tweeters, C n D Midrange, E n F Mid bass ( under seats ) and G n H sub. Other than the sub all drivers are in the front and my input is the front right and left out of the stock head unit. All channel's are set as full signal from front left or right output except G n H which are set as sub. Any thoughts?

![]() I'm about the wire up my PP82DSP. Could someone confirm that the speaker outputs is the yellowbox in the middle and the line inputs are the red box to the left? And I don't need to use the power cables (green on the right) on the system connector when I use the bigger power terminals on the other side right? The amp will sense the signal on the inputs and turn on it self? |

It sounds great! A totally different world than the stock. Altought I haven't tweaked the DSP finished yet. Using a behringer ecm 8000 calibration microphone with room eq wizard. Need to find an easier realtime spectrum analyzer software on my mac. |

I'm contemplating on getting he PP82DSP, I have base audio with with no tweeters and no amp, my HU is CIC on a 2011 X5 E70.
I want to have individual channels for the tweeters. I don't know if there is a way to tap the individual tweeter output channel with the PP-AC13A harness. Does Technic's harness have a way to provide 6 channels of audio output (sub, mid, tweeters) ? I assume that the inputs would be from under the seats with Technic's harness , how does this play with the powersave ? Will I be able to control the rear PDC volume and gongs or does the HU harness provide that control |

Advice on upgrade?
OK...information overload.
Can someone review/recommend for 2014 328xi with HiFi oem stereo? I ordered Bavsound replacement kit for all mids and tweeters. I was going to get Helix Match PP 82DSP to replace OEM amp and technic's harness to connect. I was going to get Earthquake SWS8 subs to replace underseat. Any suggested changes or will this work pretty well? Can I hookup the center speaker still with this? Will bavsound speakers sound good if i use stock wiring and don't split door mids and tweeters back to amp? Should SWS8 be 2 ohm version? Which speakers to which channels? Any other general advice? I don't really want to deal with a trunk sub..too little space there as it is. Thanks so much, John |

Guys, I don't want to ask anything that has already been covered, however I am confused with all the setup options. And I have gotten mixed answers thus far. I was told I needed an amp with balanced inputs, then told no. I was also told I needed to account for DSP and then that it wasn't necessary in my setup. I have a 2011 E90 335i with Nav, and Hifi system. No HK, No Logic7 or center channel. I am looking at the Helix match MS4C components for the front door mids and tweeters and the Helix MS8B 8" sub for the factory floor. My plan was to run a 4ch amp with front channels on components and rear on under seat woofers. Can I do this without the need for a DSP? Also, do you have to use an amp with balanced inputs? Or would the Helix MA40X work? My second consideration was the MB Quart 200.3 component set and the NANO NSC475 amp. Thoughts? Thanks in advance.

I have the tweeters in the front pods on the doors, I have the 4 in. mids in the front doors, the two under seat bass drivers and the speakers in the rear tray. Mine is a US model so from what I've read the base for us is the Euro spec HIfi. I PM'd Technic on his harness and he suggested the JL600/6 and infomed me of the balanced inputs. While trying to decide on a speaker system I looked at the MB Quart 200.3 and they recommended a MBQuart Nano NSC475 amp which is 2ohm stable and 75x4. No idea if the inputs accept a balanced signal. I also looked at some of the Helix amps and speaker solutions. Crutchfield was the one who told me inputs did not have to be balanced and recommended some JL audio speaker wire to RCA adapters. I trust Technic on this one based on his experience, just wasn't sure what would work other than JL and how many channels you guys were using as the bass driver mid and tweeter are all on one channel and i don't really care about rear fill. Thanks

I am ready to install my 82dsp+match 3way speakers, my 14 X3 with based system with no tweeter, and after retrofit 6.5' to 8.8' NBT, should I need to re-code to hi-fi to enjoy the most benefit from the sound upgrade?

CokeMania what system are you starting with?
CokeMania what system are you starting with?
I would think it would give you a greater range of adjustment than Base system . And I don't see how you could not do it if you have L7 and don't try install a mobridge DA-2 or 3 Did you buy the BMW tweeter pods for your new system. Technic mentioned something about this awhile ago I think he is the authority on it. So the MBQuart Amps are set up for Head Unit speaker outs? |
