When I noticed one of my old ones had died, my first thought was "oh crap I am going to have to install new ones". How could I forget what a severe PITA it was to get those in a year and a half ago. I have a 2010 335i Sedan E90, and I think it must be the hardest model in the world to get these lights installed in.
There is no top panel to pull off to get to them, just that small round roughly 2 inch "port hole" from the engine side to access them with. I dont know about you but I dont have hands the size of a 6 year old, so it is terrible, passenger side even worse than the drivers...

Heres what I used that made it way easier....
In this model of light with the square housing, there are two holes that were used to pass a screw driver to some small screws at the top.
At first I thought about fabricating some tool, maybe even manipulating a fork to be used for the job.
Ready for this...
A golf divot hole tool! Worked like a champ! saved my fingers, not a single scratch, cut, scrape, or wound of any kind. And my wife appreciated the lack of constant swearing coming out of the garage like last time!

I hope this saves the hands and fingers of many of you fellow AE light installers out there!
Hi, do you have a pic of how to use this tool? I have the same problem - I remove the round lid, but then barely manage to reach the bulb with only 2 fingers, hence can't get a grip to turn the socket to release...

While the OEM H8 bulb has a "L" shape and is a bit easier to grip as you can apply some torque to it, almost all of the LED CREE H8 bulbs out there are linear, so you need a full grip of the socket... the tools seems a bit small to lock the socket with fingers pressing on the 2 clamps...perhaps a few pics would help

Thx

Can anyone recommend some specific ebay/amazon angel eye brands/sellers that are $100 or less that they like? $150+ for the more reputable brands is a bit steep for me. I don't expect sub $100 angel eyes to look like Lux but as long as they look good enough with my stock Xenons headlights I'll be happy.

I recently bought a pair of GENSSI Elite Halo Angel Eyes Bulbs For BMW Headlights (E90 / E91 W/ Halogen Headlights 2009-2011 LCI)
$49.99 on Amazon, here's a daytime photo after installation.

hey guys, I'm kind of new here. I've been looking at swapping out my angel eye bulbs for the LUX ones as everyone here seems to love them. As i'm waiting for inventory to refill...has anyone tried these ebay ones? Specifically this design? Seems to provide more lumens than the LUX. I'm still most likely going with the lux, but I'm just curious

I honestly wouldn't bother with eBay/Amazon brands. You will end up spending more $$$ in the long run. I just installed my LUX Angel eyes and couldn't be any happier $135 with shipping.

No. They are cheap eBay blue tinted ones. Didn't really expect much from them but to my surprise they are holding up well and they match my AE and headlights way better they the yellow stock one.

Any advice on after market xenon headlights for a 07 E90? All of the options I found online isn't compatible with my stock xenon adaptive headlights, and I don't want to pay $1,400 for new adaptive headlights.

They are about 15 % brighter than the LUX H8 160 models, otherwise the same

Hey guys i have been wanting to get angels for such a longtime now but idk what to do. I have the crappy stock headlights not the bi-xenons.

I have been researching this for months and i am at a loss. The only possible lights i have seen that would work would be some random headlights off eBay that are probably horrible quality and from china($500) and not worth the money. someone please help me

I myself am in same boat, looking for upgrade, but it appears that vendors have little interest in providing options to us who are stuck with stock headlights/halogens. They only care about selling their LED bulbs lol. So ironically ebay headlights are the only reasonable choice nowadays imho. You get LED AEs, projector lens headlights (tho mediocre output quality) and ANY upgraded look of your choice be it round AEs or new M4 style shape ones. Many of them are descent quality, you can read some threads here on forum, people are happy. Check this thread for example: http://www.e90post.com/forums/showth...1214679&page=9
Very good looking headlights with LED AEs, modern look, many members bought them and are happy. They go for $308 which is a done deal http://www.ebay.com/itm/401227075374

I mean do you really want to pay $1400 for oem bi-xenons (used) and then fiddle with coding, wiring, buying extra ballast etc and ten on top of that buying LED bulbs for AEs for another $130 lol

I think choice is clear imho

I posted in another thread but thought I'd post here as well-does anyone have any pictures, links, or general info regarding amber colored LED AE bulbs for an '06 E90? I know the overwhelming majority are only interested in white, but I'm looking for something a little different and was curious if there are any options out there.
