I read this out loud and my wife just nearly spat out the sip of water she just ....... took all over me!!!

It was originally made because of the kids' comments but nowadays it seems to come more and more from ummmm yep socks to say!!

We have an inside joke that we often say when our friends are over how I've become a Tar Heel fan recently!! Go Blue!

I'm glad you have a sense of humor. Wasn't sure how it would go over.

Post # 1045. I imagine there will be lots of these before this thread is over.

Did your comment have something to do with being old by chance?

BTW, has anyone here seen my reading glasses?

Every
Single
Day

I get up from the chair in my office and walk out of my office to do/get something. I get 10 feet and I CAN'T REMEMBER the mission. I have to go back into my office and wait until the needle in my brain hits that spot on the record again.

Yes, they are on your nose where they belong.....

Been there, done that.

Ten minutes for the sandwich + 20 for a nap = 30 minute lunch "hour" in the land of WFH (sponsored by COVID).

No blue pills here. Doctors took that activity away with my racing license almost 4 years ago. The only sodium in my diet is the saltpeter pills they are making me take. Ask me again why I haven't slashed my wrists yet?????

I'm fortunate enough to be able to see without my glasses, just don't ask me to read anything. Totally makes having a cell phone very inconvenient. I don't wear my glasses to the gym; most everyone has adapted and knows not to even bother sending texts between 6-8:00 pm. If I do get texts, they all start with "When you finish at the gym..."

I did opt for the transitional bi-focals though. Just because I'm old doesn't mean I want to advertise it even more with the line through the middle of my lenses.

As for the lack of blue pill activities, sir, I metaphorically pour one out for my homie. I hate to hear that.

I'd also like to add the reason you haven't slashed your wrists is because you're journey isn't finished yet.

One of the two consumed every waking moment of my life since I was a teenager, and was the only thing that I would think about 24/7. Spent tens of thousands of dollars every year in hotels chasing it all over the country, for a mind-blowing physical/mental rush that only lasted a few minutes and then it was all over until the "walk of shame" home.

The other one was hours of prep work, followed by a few minutes of elevated heart rate, hoping for a second place finish before hitting the road.

I used to have a one-off custom bumper sticker on the front of my race car that said, "Racing and sex are not spectator sports." My DW heard me say it in the paddock of an event once, and had the sticker made to put on my car. Believe me, you can't appreciate either until you've been in the driver's seat.

You also can't truly appreciate either...until you can have neither. I love my DW and my race car equally as much. Final answer.....
