Also i know i've asked you guys this before, but when i did, i didn't have much luck finding anything. Anyone know of a place that does vinyl, like car exterior vinyl? i gotta get the roof blacked out.
Is this a potential option for you?

Honestly, I can guarantee if You come, You will have a GREAT time. Camping Friday night is a blast as well...full beer garden/Good live music/pro pit passes to see the pro rigs and semi's that rival Nascar semis, and hangin out with fellow motorsports enthusiasts.

It's about 1.2 hours south of the the MSP Airport on 52.

Anyone interested?
I have some work stuff this weekend Brian. I am going up to Brainerd on Monday for a track day though and I am sure there are open spots available if you are interested in joining. $285 for the full day with taxes.

Sorry, I forgot I didn't answer this. That was part of Modern Automotive Performance's 2nd annual Proving Grounds event at Brainerd. Only cost $150 for the day which is a great deal. If you're looking to get on the track I would highly recommend talking to Todd over at Tracktime Motorsports. He organizes track days at Brainerd and Cedar Falls and for a fair price too. Here's a link http://www.tracktimemotorsports.net/trackday.html and his email mailto:todd@tracktimemotorsports.com

Well you could be right, but I would hope that BMW wouldn't be that stupid if they are only increasing the hp output slightly. It is true that newer M cars are typically a bit more heavy. My M3 is about 160 lbs heavier than a 335, but in that case and in most new M car cases, the engine is significantly larger.

Thanks man! A bit late though because I've already registered for Brainerd's track day on the 19th of July! But $150 is hard to beat to have some consistent track days.

Interesting article. Lighter than 135... very nice.

I think this topic has been beaten to hell officially for now.

BMW Minnetonka has been pretty good to me so far as well, i'm pretty impressed with their service. Ask for Jeremy S (service tech), he's a good dude, used to work with my brother.

New member/owner here. Just picked up '11 M3 sedan from Minnetonka. So far so good. Love the place, but not as much as I love the CAR!

thanks, guys. This thing is wicked fun to drive and I have barely scratched the surface!

Prolly of less interest here, but this is the other one: she puts down ~400 to the wheels, so no slow poke either:

Awesome cars! Cannot go wrong with black on black! You'll be surprised at the amount of interest MN members have for old bimmers. I am quite enamoured by the 6 series and 3 series from the 1980s. The 6 series shark design is just timeless. I also saw a 1999 M coupe yesterday and man talk about a car that has some serious road presence!

Can you list your mods on the E36?

Sure: Eurosport Twin screw SC, Schrick cams, Turner UDP's; oil cooler; Ground control coilovers, Diffsonline 3-clutch 3.46 LSD (stock is 3.23), and Euro 6-spd transmission conversion. The thing that's really nice about the twin screw is the boost is on, fully, at very low rpms and it has an ultra-linear tq curve is flat (300 wheel ft-lbs at 2250 rpm, max was~335, max hp a hair under 400whp) so it drives like a small block V8.

Only regret is that I cant safely track the car. I did take her to the BIR driving school, which was a BLAST, but its too risky to do regularly. Now the E90, is another story

While I am not familiar with supercharger systems, it does sound like you have a good setup.

What type of engine management system are you using? Is your reluctance to track the car based on reliability or too much power? Also, what is your take on the forced induction scene for the E30 and E46 M3s? What is the overrall consensus on whether turbocharging or supercharging is better? Obviously, the power delivery on each system is completely different, but I am curious on what most modders opt for.

Welcome... welcome back it sounds like. That e36 is awesome
I like your e90 too. Sedan looks good with the comp wheels. I wish I had those on mine.

Believe you me... You will not be dissapointed by the e90 m3 on the track. It is a blast.

Do you have any aftermarket plans for the new M? I'm in the market for exhaust and just can't figure out which to go with as I've only heard one in person (Gintani).
