Mine appeared to read codes fine after I uninstalled last night. I had the infamous p2fa3 code during install and after uninstall I was able to search for codes still and had no codes found.

I just got a ignition glow code (cylinder 6) running the Cobb v201 93 map on my 6MT car with 10k miles on it. Engine mods = Cobb AP, Injen Intake and RPi Exhaust.
I felt the car stutter during a second gear WOT pull right around 4k rpms which the freeze frame data from the BT tool verified. Happened twice within 10mins of driving both in second gear under WOT. The AP didn't even register the code but my BT Tool picked it up under shadow codes. No idea what happened and nothing changed on the car besides just getting an oil change and brakes flushed just prior. The weather was a little warmer today (50's) and the car was idling for a period of time earlier. I use to get this code with the procede v4 if my boost was over 14psi. At 14 it would be fine. With the latest Cobb maps I noticed that boost shoots up like crazy during early part of the rev range and tampering off as the revs climb. Since they are targeting load I'm wondering with the warmer weather its causing my car to overboost to the point that it knocks? My logs always showed my car would have throttle closure because it would overshoot boost but everything would look spot on. Car always felt great but most if not all of my cobb testing was during winter temps ~30 degrees. I'm really wondering if boost would climb too high as the weather gets warmer and warmer. After clearing out the codes with the BT Tool, I went ahead and switched down to the 91octane map and swapped out my injen intake for the oem unit. Car doesn't feel as fast but zero issues. No more stuttering from the limited testing that I was able to do safely. Managed to get one good log. 3rd gear at about 3K rpm to 7K shift into 4th gear while still on the throttle for a few seconds. Looks similar to my earlier logs running the 93 octane map and the car felt normal. No weird stutter. Sent Rob and email and waiting for his response. Boost and Timing is on the secondary axis ![]()

I am glad I saw this thread, I was about to get GIAC 2 put on my car but I might get this now instead. A friend's shop here local recommended COBB to me as well. I assume the stage 2 maps still aren't available? I am installing catless DP's within the next few days or so and I want to run GIAC stage 2 types of numbers. I also don't want to buy O2 sims... but I think this COBB AP is supposed to be able to disable those CEL codes right?
TIA to a hopefully happy customer soon ![]() |

GIAC tune is a great tune IMO, If it was only user tunable or at least user flashable it would be perfect for me. The Cobb seems to have everything I'm looking for or at least will have everything i'm looking for once they get so of the small issues fixed, well at least in my case. as of now I don't believe Cobb Stg 1 supports DP, but I maybe mistaken.

In agreement with Alan L., the boost on the Cobb Stage 1 93 octane map does come on very strong and very early, and seems to taper off as you get in to higher revs...

maybe im confuzed there is a shift at 7k rpm and then another at ~5k rpm.... the 2 dips in the tsp line is the throtle plate closeing on its own correct? you are not doing that it is doing that to control the over boost? and this log aside from the overboosting is fine isn't it.... also what is the boost limitation on stock turbo's if you can get 17lbs on a stock turbo why go rb's for 3lbs?

Just wondering, how come the COBB accessport for the Subbies is only $595 compared to the ~$800+ for BMW's? Is it because of the initial R&D and the fact that this just came to the BMW folks?

Per cobb, the bmw ecu took significantly longer to crack than any other brand that they off. I might be mistaken, but I believe in the 5+ times more than the others. Its price point is line with other flashes.

Update: I installed my AP today, the car took a while to start, and the first time it did the SES light stayed on. I shut down and restarted, since there no codes thrown, and she was good to go.
I always drive with DTC off, but to save my tires, I may have to rethink that. Stage 1 is beyond what I expected, and it will be struggle not to go to stage 2 when it becomes available. This is a fun little car, that just became even more so. |

Yeah..my expectations were shattered with the Cobb AP. I never in a million years thought my car could be this fast while still being VERY smooth and driveable - combined with the extremely simple and intuitive install - it's a dream tune. The way this thing delivers the power is just jaw-dropping and grin-inducing. My only wish is that I had tires with more grip! I can smoke through all the lower gears up to 4 no problem.
