I wasted a day off to go to this place to have a look at an X3. The ones I saw were ok condition but one had crumbly discs and worn front tyres – not mentioned on the fairly new MOT (which I suspect was probably conducted on site). I was (unusually for mild-mannered me) quite bullish with the salesperson who tried to pressure me to put a deposit down and walked out when he wouldn’t take money off the price or increase my P/EX offer. My suspicions were aroused during the meeting by the fact that one X3 had no service booklet – ‘Oh they often get lost, it’s quite normal’. Another one I looked at had incomplete service history – the mileage hadn’t been completed on one of the stamped service intervals. He said he would get this from the dealer on Monday and get in touch. I have not heard from him since – I think he realised I wasn’t a pushover or maybe I was from TS – this place preys on dead ducks who go in and pay the asking price for cheap(ish) used BMWs. I have to admit that I was tempted despite the obvious warning signs, but had resolved today that I would look elsewhere.
And that was before I saw this web site and the very similar experiences of other people....... I would rather shit in my hands and clap than venture into that place again. What also pissed me off was the fact that once you pay out for the car you have to pay a further £142.50 ‘buyers fee’ which I have never heard of. It's perverse and sums up what a complete racket it is. I can rest easy now that I have saved these wretched people from getting another £15,000 of business. I remember seeing this post back in the day when I first bought my e39... It stopped me from going to see these boys as they are not far from me. They are still up to no good as a bloke I know who is a decent fella into his bmws for years bought a real nail from this lot...and had proper hassle trying to get things sorted..

Havent lurked on here for a while, but crap tv and laptop in hand, thought I would see how BigMotorWorld aka rogue scammers were doing.
Delighted to see you guys are continuing to educate the unsuspecting punter from these cowboys who sell dodgy cars (see my thread re the X3 with 'vanishing' full service history if you are a newbie). Regretably, these muppets are still trading, the good news is that they used to sell a lot of cars by the container to Ireland and righthand drive Europe with no viewings. Now the Euro is so much weaker and more UK punters are being educated, their business is feeling the pinch Happy days and remember...be careful out there and avoid BigMotoringWorld, unless of course you want to be ripped off, cheated, lied to. I wonder if they are still selling cars with the upgraded OEM alloys that are in fact cheap replicas Happy days and will lurk back to hopefully see this thread alive and kicking (the crap out of their business) |

I think its called ‘Search Engine Optimization’. It may be that Big Motoring World , the largest Independent Used BMW Dealer in the country has paid someone to bump up the positive stuff. Alternatively, it could just be down to the fact that in the heady days of this thread it was seeing a dozen posts a day, whereas now it has somewhat gone off the boil. It will be interesting to see if this current flurry of activity pays dividends.

Just to let you know I drove past big motoring world and saw a few punters looking for;
Good quality used BMW 1 3 5 6 7 series Massive stock Excellent service Now clearly they will be disappointed if they do purchase such a vehicle from them, but hopefully if this is picked up via a Google search, we will have saved at least one more unsuspecting customer from a shoddy or misrepresented vehicle, financial loss and heartache/grief. Thank heavens for their warranty |

It's funny because when I was driving on the A20 to Maidstone last weekend I saw the signs to West Malling and I thought that is the home of -
Big Motoring World , the largest Independent Used BMW Dealer in the country.. The have a massive stock of 1 3 5 6 and 7 Series in massive stock and provide excellent service.. It's a genuine pity but I kept driving on.. :P |

my experience
i have bought 2 cars from big motoring world, 1st one was a great car, didnt have the cd multi changer cartridge and they said they would sort it never did and the seat was damaged on the side which just got glued, however cheapest around so i got it done for less then £200 so i was happy and got a great price for my part ex, second car i got a year ago the hand over not as i would hope as extremly abrupt with me, after 2 months the turbo went they told me to take to halfords?? as part of there warranty agreement... guess what nothing could be done.
i ended up getting it repaired at a cost of £900 and got £400 back from the warranty minus excess etc like all warranties and insurances i must add it took too many calls and to much time, a bit of a mixed experience would i use again........... the price is always appealing, £2-£3000 less then others that are out there will laways make it tempting, the sales guys... are pushy i wish i had them work for me, they will always try and do a deal.... well the 2 i dealt with any way |

wow, some low expectations there. I wish I had customers who would come back after such poor sales and after sales service!

I went to see these jokers nearly 5years ago to look at an m3 that was in "really good condition" 60k on the clock iirc had been on there website at least a week.
Turned up and it was dead no body anywhere was wondering around the car for 15 mins before a bloke came out with his coffee/tea and a ginger nut biscuit, while dunking he came straight out with "you can't take it for a test drive a part in the diffs gone and the paddles don't work, but we are waiting for the parts" that all made sense as the rear tires were both passed the wear indicators He then unlocked it and invited me get in, I opened the door and felt it drag on the sill and then drop, stuck my head in to find the drivers seat had a tear in side and bottom bolster. I promptly closed the door and said "its not for me" he replied with "you won't find one cheaper with the miles and paddles" my reply "your probably right, but at least it will drive off the forecourt" As I'm walking back to my car I hear him say to another chap watching us leaning on the door frame of the office, also drinking a hot beverage, " another time waster. Any more biscuits"? So I've warned anyone who's ever said they want a bmw not to go there |
