IDK about 4 gears

Maybe 1st and a little of 2nd.

Maybe a bit exaggerated but you get the idea. Strong tune.

I had the TC light flash on both the 1-2 and 2-3 shift this morning, my tires only have about 1k on them. I also discovered my cruise control isn't working, so I'll have to search and see if that is the norm. I hope not.

I popped three engines on my WRX so, I swore I wouldn't mod this car. I've held strong for the first six months but, the disappointing lag I now have after my latest service, combined with the reviews of the AP, are testing my resolve. I check the board almost daily hoping I'll see a reason not to pull the trigger. But no, it's just, "this thing is a beast now" and "the power is incredible and so smooth" and "after installing the AP, I now have better luck with the ladies and I just got a promotion..."

Okay, maybe I added the last one but, suffice to say you guys aren't making it easy to stay stock. Resistance is probably futile.

I think there is a few members on here that have the cruise control problem also, so it might be an issue cobb is still working to fix. i think its only happening to some of the cars because when one member reported it i tested my cruise control on my car and it was working fine.

I should test my cruise control now that you mention it.

Also it seems like even when fully enabled traction control is not on. In other words, even when I have TC fully enabled, I can still spin the tires like heck, it doesn't seem like the throttle input is being modulated at all....

Anyone else notice this?

yes that is correct. when you install the ap it will save your rom so that when you uninstall it, the stock rom will be reinstalled.

When you install your AP, it will explicitly say it's saving your current rom. Once that is done it will start flashing with the tune you chose.

Curious, if you have a different flash and then install the AP does it record the current flash as the stock or ? Would it set the car back to the earleir flash as the stock setting?

This evening, I was driving through a neighboring town, on the one road that is a known speed trap from town line to town line. Out of habit, I engaged cruise and lo and behold, it worked! I've been trying off and on all day, and was going uninstall/reinstall the AP tonight. It seems to have resolved itself but I'm just happy that it is back to normal.

Unknown roms are not too much too fear guys.

You just send information to Cobb and they turn around with an update for you and everything is fixed.

If you've brought your car in recently for service/warranty you may have a new ROM that may not be recongonized by the COBB AP. However, if you do have this issues, it really isn't too much to worry about as the guys at COBB can work everything out for you. For those of you who are experiencing this issue and aren't familiar with how to do so please see below:

What it does:
The AccessPORT User Dump allows users to dump unknown ECU firmware in the field. It will only be enabled if the vehicle identification fails. Otherwise, it is unavailable. Once used, the feature disappears as the device state is set back to "Uninstalled".

Before connecting to the vehicle, please update your AccessPORT firmware to the latest firmware by running the AccessPORT Manager software.

How to use it:
* Select "Install".
* If the vehicle identification fails, an identification error will be displayed.

* The device state is set to "Unknown Rom" and "User Tools" will be enabled.

* Select "User Tools" and wait for a successful user dump.

* In some cases, the vehicle may not be supported on the device and an error will show instead of the dump proceeding.
* For vehicles that have test-mode connectors, please make sure the test mode connectors are connected before selecting "User Tools" menu.

* After a successful dump, connect the AccessPORT to the AccessPORT Manager and safe the file onto your computer in the Manage tab.

Email the ROM to rom@cobbtuning.com. Please include Make, Model, Year and Transmission Type (Manual, Automatic, DCT (Dual Clutch Transmission) in the body of your email.
