[edit] interesting. Reading the specs, if one were to assume a gain of about 15% of the CLA45 for AWD and "stuff" over the CLA250, then it would come out about 170 kgs heavier than my R. That's pretty crazy. The 335xi had a ptw ratio of 226 hp/ton, my R is going to be 210 hp/ton when my mods are done. Which means that if the numbers match up, it will have 210 hp/ton BEFORE any tuning. I guess the only problem is it's a pretty tiny engine, so the chances of it gaining 30-50% additional power like the N54 does are cockall. Oh well. Should still be a snappy vehicle.

Interesting times indeed! M135 doesn't have an LSD by the way, which is beyond me....
BMW has lost its way in my opinion. They used to be leaders, nowadays they are followers, I guess bottom line talks. Take the 2.0 4 cylinder turbo, which company came up with that first? Audi! Now they are thinking of bringing a 4 series coupe following the 3-series sedan. Cough* Audi A5 coupe following its A4 series *cough All products are getting to be similar if you ask me. I read somewhere the A45 AMG will surely cross the pond, whereas the hatchback M135 unlikely...

oh but while we're on the subject of BMW copying the planet, let's have an AWD M while we're at it. that's one copy I will approve of
... and maybe a "mM4"/"mM3" which will be positioned above the M4/M3 and have a V8. Hehe. |

M3 should be max 2800 lbs, 350hp I6, but I know it wouldn't sell much down south if it doesn't have all the creature comforts. /rant

I think I can do it!
Btw: anyone looking for a Mini? Friend selling his grey 2009 Cooper S, warranty until end of summer, sport and all other packages except navi, 29k kms (! - lives downtown) and driven as if by a granny (in all honesty, this car has probably never been over 100 km/h). $21K. This is probably the lowest mileage Mini you'll find. Last edited by Pseudo Nim; 03-29-2013 at 12:44 PM.. |
