Hola guys/gals my wife and I will be flying into Las Vegas few weeks from now. From there we're renting a car and headed to the LA area since neither one of us has ever stepped foot in Cali. We'll only be making a quick day trip then back to Vegas so without driving an extra 2 or more hours what should we see and where? Driving 4hrs already in a rental won't leave me wanting to tread another long drive up to NorCal.

I've heard radar detectors are illegal in Cali, is this true?
Also I'm a rather fast driver so any tricks cops use to catch speeders on the highways?
Any speed traps or speed cameras on interstate from Vegas to LA?

Wife and I both love the water so would like a nice place for us to pull in to see a beautiful shot of the Pacific coast. Thanks in Advance for any help as it is greatly appreciated.

Radar is legal.
Entire 15 is a speed trap.

You should be okay unless they use the air to get you.

Have fun. Consider taking a separate trip to LA next time, as there's plenty to see/do without rushing it.

I do know coming down from Victorville to LA you will be coming downhill and when you are almost to the bottom and curving right, on the left side there is a little path between north and south bound where the popo hides.
