I'm running 255/35 achillies atr sport 2 xl tires on 18x9.5 et23 with bilstein b12 pro kit and camber set to -2.2 in rear and almost no rub with minimal roll/pull. I believe if I go at it once More will eliminate rub completely which is on only big dips. |

After 5 years and 45k miles this has been a banner year for broken stuff on this car.
To date: - valve cover - coils - front right door speakers - water pump Replaced water pump and thermostat. Something in there definitely failed and cause some burn marks on the cover, but couldn't really see what actually failed. Anyway, water pump guts. yay. Nice piece of kit this pump is though - for once I feel like the cost of the part is somewhat justifiable. Prolly cost $30-50 to make? Last edited by tlow98; 03-12-2020 at 02:06 AM.. |

Well after a test drive of course I've uncovered more problems
Think my CCV valve needs a replacement, either that or just the diaphragm. I think my oil filter housing gasket leak was keeping the problem at bay, because now the valve cover is getting pressurized. Also got rid of my crusty old hood heat shield, wasnt expecting the hood to 'pop' (or that's my guess, definitely sounded like it).. Guess I'll put it back on and order a replacement.

Sanding and grinding. Filled a few spots with wheel putty too. These were not horrible, so I was able to fix all of it.

Took the car in for oil change, intercooler install, and to fix a leaky washer. Found out that my washer fluid line and coolant line were chewed by rodents...

Dam rodents! on my E46, they had chewed the wire under the intake for one of the knock sensors! It was cold and in the dead of winter, so cost me $1K at indy for a chewed wire.

Deleted xDrive a few days ago and coded it so I can close the windows and sunroof via my key fob. Planning to enable FTM so I don't have to worry about stupid TPMS sensors in my snow tires/rims dying this summer.

Didnt do it yet but I just got all my parts in the mail and my 450pump. Tomorrow I will be doing the diy pump upgrade and fixing what a repair shop fixed.....
To be on topic I drove it and had a little fun in the rain on my commute to work. All smiles. |
