You realize this is a 12 employee company with 2 full time office people and 1 half time office person. I've suggested plenty of improvements, even pushed a couple through without telling anyone. It's hopeless and I've lost my motivation. The system that's in place would work perfect if everyone simply did their fucking paperwork. It's amazing how much it is to ask for a succinct, accurate, completed sub 100 word summary of what you spent the last 8 hours doing.

Half the time I spend posting here is waiting for answers to shit from the field. The other half is just demoralized apathy. If no one else gives a shit, I'm done giving a shit as well. But if anyone has the balls to come to me asking why something contains an error, I'll sure as hell let them know about it. It simply isn't fair to customers (the majority of which are upstanding and prompt) to hold a job open for 4months because no one on our end can complete anything without threatening to break a few fingers. So if something goes through with an error benefiting the customer, so be it. Better than leaving it open for another 4mos and it becomes uncollectable.

The size of your company has nothing to do with accepting inefficiency. Isn't this your dad's company and by default likely your's some day (or proceed from the sale are)?

The thing to do is to quantify how much this is costing the company on an average annual basis. Calculate both in terms of actual "errors" in favor of client and cost of money on delays.


1. Show your dad how much money he is just pissing away.
2. Then offer to bonus the department based on improvent for 1/2 of that cost based on achieving some desired measurable improvement.

Its not that hard really. Here's the job, do it right, or we find someone else who can and is willing.
