Woohoo!

I just got back from lunch and now have the cookies! I wasn't sure what the final tally would be, so I grabbed 3 dozen. Might have over done it just a tad. Better than not having enough though, and my cookie with lunch was fantastic!

My '07 is getting close to 46k. Will be out of warranty in maybe two months at the rate I'm going. I need to either get a different job or move to Provo before I get a new car (I have no desire to move to Provo). I don't want to do this to another vehicle. That or get a different dd, but I don't like the thought of mostly driving a car that doesn't make me happy when I drive it.

I've thought about that. Using an Accord or something similar for all my business miles. By the time you carry 2 vehicles, insurance, ect...not sure if it's worth it. I'll buy a 2 year old CPO BMW next time and see if I can hit the 100k before the 5 years are up.

Interesting thought. I might have to give it a try. 20-25k a year on a car is way too much to buy new, that's for sure.

I ran into some of the same problems with financially making it worth it on the two car thing. The car has to be purchased for about 3-5k max to make that stand a chance, and then I think I'd hate my dd.

Oh, man! I can hardly wait. I wanted to give my car a good wash but was told not to after the guy installed the windshield today, so it will have about 5 days worth of grime on it. At least I've got a garage to keep it from getting too nasty in that time. The worst looking thing is going to be my brakes. I just applied anti-squeal crap and it is bright pink! If it works it will totally be worth it though. EDIT: I don't think it did anything. Damn squeaky slotted rotors. Maybe that was a bad idea...

I had some similar issues a while back when I was "workin for da man" . I was driving 30-50k miles/year. I bought a CPO bimmer and had an MDX that my wife usually drove. At first I liked the MDX and it worked out well that I would put about 25% of my miles on that car. I was reimbursed for all my miles, so I made a ton of money on that deal.

Later in my career I had a truck, the same MDX and my current 335. I would spread miles across all 3 cars, although it became tough to take anything but the 335 on long trips, given its great fuel mileage. My thought is to have a 3rd car that can be fun at times (like a truck) and a wife's vehicle that you also don't mind. Spread some miles across all of them and ease the burden.

Or just buy a Prius and figure out how to tell your dad you're gay
