sucked my old INPA laptops hard drive directly into a virtualbox disk image so I could use it on my new laptop in linux. I should probably create a new one without the daten files and such that make it 100GB and post it for download. |

That's a great idea, in case my old Win7 laptop dies. I do have backups, but would be a hassle to reinstall everything.

then you've just got to setup the virtual machine to approximate your old install's hardware and mount the image file to it. took an hour to suck the 100gb from the ancient laptop hard drive, took 5 minutes to make it boot. don't forget to add your user account to the vboxuser group or you won't be able to address USB devices plugged into the host machine. I'm rather fond of virtual machines. It's great to keep things machine agnostic. I did the same thing with the volvo software when I first set it up and it's been passed to three or 4 different machines without any setting up things hassle. you just export the machine as an ova file and keep it on an external drive, ready to import into any computer. virtual machines for life. virtualbox is free. |

Took her out for the weekly joy ride under quarantine. Have to treat the original battery with 160k right so it keeps going. Have to say, I always love to work on, drive and look at my car in passing, but I do have a bit of a higher appreciation for the German engineering driving her only a handful of times over the last month. Love this car. Can't imagine how you 400 horse 335's feel like getting in once a week and giving her a rip!

Got it from aliexpress from this seller https://www.aliexpress.com/item/4000...27424c4dmKOe27 If you want to get it, ask the seller about its weight, the good copy is around 200g. It's not a direct fit, you should wrap the gear lever with felt tape and push it. |

the command is basically
vboxmanage -convertrawimage /dev/"drive" "imagename".vdi will import a whole drive into your home folder as a vdi. then just create new machine and mount the existing vdi in vbox. double check that syntax, |

When I met my wife, she used to hang a plastic bag on her shifter for trash... Manual transmission too. It used to drive me nuts.

I think some 35% tint would compliment the wheels nicely.

Also is it durable? If your put pressure against it, would it crack or split?

It was 120$ done in my driveway. Supposedly it's durable I guees will have to see. I have previously replaced the top cover (DIY) with a used one in good condition because it cracked in same spot so maybe it's a defect. Also where the car gets parked is on an incline so I think that contributes to my ongoing problem as the weight is constantly rubbing against that bolster. I also saw a lot of e90's with same problem when I was shopping for one 5 years ago so if i have to do it every 2-3 years it really is a non issue at that cost.
