Finally got around to running the USB Fakra cable, and Aux wiring, from the trunk to the center armrest. Not difficult, except that the carpet is EXTREMELY tight over the transmission hump between the rear seats and the center console, so it took some prying (and LOTS of swearing ) to get the wires run under that area. Now I have the USB/Aux ports where they're supposed to be.

Cheers!

Does the USB charge at all or is it strictly for mp3s?

Yup, it has full functionality. I did the factory 6FL retrofit a few months ago, but hadn't had the time to run the cable/wires to the console.

Cheers!

Picked up at 2011 335i MSport a few days ago! 112,000 miles, tons of service records (AVG oil change interval around 8k), and a lot of common issues fixed in the last 15k miles! OFHG, OPG, water pump, valve cover, expansion tank, vanos solenoids and vanos units?, new brakes all around, radiator and hoses (although this 13k mike old radiator was leaking so I just replaced that!). Most of that was done by BMW and is covered under a 2yr/unlimited mile warranty which is pretty sweet.

Has some other minor issues, but ended up getting it for $5k which I think was a steal. Also came with an N54 charge pipe and HKS BOV setup in the trunk that I sold so effectively got it for $4800! Interior is mint! Excited for the new car but I’ll be sad to see my 330i go, just waiting for someone to buy it

While I’m waiting to transfer the title and registration (not easy to do during COVID), I refinished the headlights and replaced the radiator, cleaned it up and did some other small things.

Made an excel spreadsheet to compile the records I have and DIY going forward.

Not a bad deal at all. Good find and a nice looking example.

I love it. I've had the 6FL going since October, and I really like being able to use the steering wheel controls, and HU to control music play from my USB stick.

A couple of times, a friend wanted to plug her iPod/phone into the Aux input to play music, but since the Aux/USB plug was in the trunk, she couldn't. Now that the retrofit is properly complete, she can!

Since I used all factory parts, it looks like the car came with the 6FL option from new, which I really like. I could have gone with an easier aftermarket solution, but I wanted to keep her completely "BMW".

Cheers!

Someone here a while ago said they coded their inner DRL to turn on with the high beams. I can’t find the post. Who did this or does anyone know what option to code?

I did that a while ago:

In the NFRM, find the label PWM_FL_BEI_BIXENON and change both values to wert_01

(I have AHLs, so if you don't, you may only have 1 value to change)

Well not for mine buy my brothers

20200517_143136

I grabbed him a 330 manifold before. Then out of chance I found a dual port version to make install easier; he happened to have 2 of them so I grabbed the extra for my fathers friend too. No real need for 1 person to have 3 of these/

Do any of your cars actually have a manifold installed?

Yesterday my transmission started making a small clunk sound when i let off after a little load. This was following my recent transmission mount upgrade with the ECSTuning 70a mounts.

Checked today to see if anything came loose for some reason even though I used 21ft lbs on the nut that holds the mount in and 25ft lbs on the support brace.

Found out the stud on the mount sheared. Only happened to one of the mounts. Just gonna buy the oem mounts

Edit: diy i found on here & followed called for the torque specs above. BMW repair manual calls for 14ft lbs on both nut and bolt...
