u guys are insane i never ever use the climate controls ever...only if its unbearibly cold here in LA which is hardly ever or early in the morning and then turn if off after a few minutes...as far as AC i only might use it on the freeway when its hot, but usually i just open the sunroof.

i dno i just dont like being trapped in the car widnwos all closed up n air blowing in my face... but i can see how usefull these tools may be .

Today, after only about 1.5 yrs of having my 335i, I finally noticed the "AUX-VOL" button on the radio screen when in auxiliary mode (I do not have iDrive). I use my iPod quite a bit in the car using an aux cable and I couldn't understand for the longest time why I had to turn up my master volume knob so much higher than I normally would than in radio FM/AM mode. The AUX-VOL setting had been set at its lowest setting (1) for the longest time.

I had to drive my car on several occasions this past winter when it was below -20F, so opening the windows didn't seem like the wisest option!

Well, you're making me look good -- I'm coming up on 4 years with my 330i and I never realized that AUX-VOL meant a thing.

Mine (also) had been set on 1 since day one.

OK, I read through all 55 pages, and I think the only thing I learned (everything else is in the manual) is that you can close the windows/sunroof by putting the hidden physical fob key in the driver door key cylinder and twist/hold in the lock position. Doubt I'll ever use that.

Last night I started the car, stopped it, took the fob out of the dash, and started it again. When I got to where I was going and pressed the stop button, the radio stayed on. The only way I could turn it off was to put the fob back in the dash and then remove it.

There are "easter egg" threads on the E46 boards, but this one is confusing because there are way too many differences in the way the car behaves with/without comfort access, I-drive, and/or adaptive cruise control. I have none of them, never wanted them, and am not exactly pining for any of them after reading through all this.

Oddly, the BBS indicates there are 56 pages on this thread but I can't get past number 55. The last post I can see is #1204/page 55.

One of my favorite (documented) features - you can set the turn signal "flick" while driving (push the stalk but not past the detent) to blink 3 times instead of 1 through the dash settings. Brilliant for lane changes. And you can turn your DRL on/off, no need to pay dealer. All this without I-drive.

The engine has to be running to turn the compressor for the AC system. It'd be pretty hard to do that with the "rest" feature.

make sure the switch that adjusts your mirrors is on the the driver side. If its on the passenger side then it doesnt work.

If you hold the unlock button on your fob for about 10 seconds, the windows and sunroof open.

But in the US, you can't close everything with the fob.

Do you have ZPP? On the 328i, you might need the premium package for the tilting reverse mirror. Not 100% sure about that, though.

yes you can........take out the key inside the fob and stick it in the keyhole and twist...
