Bear 399
Just back from a trip to Yellowstone and the Grand Tetons. Had an amazing encounter with 399 and her cubs on my last day.

Fantastic shot, Frank. Isn't it great when, on an otherwise crappy day, a subject presents themselves perfectly?

Long Exposure Sunset
Sunset across The Moray Firth in north east Scotland is always a sight to enjoy and, at 58 degrees north, twilight lasts for such a long time at this time of year. This was yesterday evening, with sunset at 21:35 it was still light at midnight.
As with many of our sunsets, the colours got much stronger after the sun had dropped behind the mountains across The Firth. This shot was 3 minutes at f/10 and taken a few minutes after sunset.

The Moment of Sunset
This shot, from Lossiemouth West Beach as the tide was rising, was taken just at the moment that the sun dropped behind the mountains across the other side of The Moray Firth. Shot at f/22 to give a nice little starburst on the sun.
It was taken 5 or 6 minutes before the long exposure sunset I posted yesterday. A great evening to experiment and also to simply stand and stare.

Here's a sunset of a different sort, featuring the clouds, as lit by the setting sun, with the Rocky Mountains casting shadows on the altocumulus clouds.
