You sure about that Bri? I thought they were illegal to use but you could buy them...always thought that was odd though. Jammers for sure verboten.

I have a passport and being able to mark regular speed traps and the fact that the newer ones have loaded all known cameras that you can update are nice features. I never understood the fascination with the arrows. I hear a signal I immediately start to slow down. I don't care where the cop is in relation to me.

only in commercial vehicles al

Illinois - (2009) - Not regulated in passenger vehicles, but they are illegal used in commercial motor vehicles over 26,001 pounds (which is redundant legislation, since Federal law already makes that illegal in any U.S. state for vehicles over TEN-thousand pounds, anyway; BUT, some states like to have it in their lawbooks so that they can charge added fines and penalties that would go to the state).

I just sold my V1 a couple months ago, it's a solid radar but the false alarms can get annoying, especially living in the city. My next radar will be the passport 9500xi.

Yea I used a cheapo detector for a while and even out in the burbs the false alarms (mainly shopping centers) were really annoying the main reason I stopped using it...mark how is the V1 out NW by me?

well, I know that I'm old and thus technology escapes me, but I still get false sigs on my passport 9500i. But that mute button is real handy.

the new one does it all by gps location, if you pass a false alarm 3 times I think it starts to block that false alarm so the 4th time you pass it it wont go off..

I was pretty sure mine has that feature....unless I have to physically do something it still picks up sigs that are not cops.

I should state that in the years that I've had it, I've only gotten nailed twice...

once because I was zoning and didn't notice the signal and once in a laser trap on 94 where the cop was on the bridge above with the laser with stateys lined up. No way to avoid the laser with a detector....any detector.

Whoa easy bro, don't be knockin the cavy. I guess I should update that since I donated that car to charity after it broke down in the parking lot of a bar last year. Probably a good thing that I couldn't drive it home though.

I don't know if James was being serious...when he said that...at least I hope he wasn't. If he was its tax season and he's been working alot of hours so forgive him. Me, I'm always cranky.

Unless you are a lying braggart we are usually a pretty accepting and welcoming bunch.
