Hood, boot and doors at some point. Maybe even custom roof panels. Never been done on the vert before.

MOD 41 Blackvue Dash Cam & Vico Power Plus Controller

Spent the day today installing a new Blackvue dash cam, just in time to record the cruise to Philip Island next weekend
Install was a bit of a pita, because it involved dropping the headliner to route all the wires. Took about 4 hours all up and another hour or so stuffing around trying to get the camera to connect to my phone.
Also connected up the Vico power plus controller that allows you to manually turn the dash cam on and off and some other neat features...

MOD 42 ZiZa Interior LED Light Kit

Two mods in one day lel
Purchase this kit from Turtles here on the forum (thanks mate )

This upgrade is like swapping out your brown glow stock angel eyes for white aftermarkets.
Was surprised how much of a difference it made..No more brown glow in the interior... should have done this ages ago

Was going to do a DIY on this, but its well covered in the PDF at the end of this post

Pics 4 & 5 - Rear before and after

Yes it makes a huge difference TBH, didn't realise how brown the stock interior lighting was until now.
Was never really a fan but like LCI tail lights or LUX angel eyes, it really gives the car a more modern look

Interesting install location for the front cam socks. Doesn't the right side get blocked from the black plastic mirror trim?

Installed before I've done mine!! You don't waste any time.

Did you hook the Vico up to the fuse box? If so which fuses and how did you connect them?

I might have a go tomorrow, when I tried I couldn't get any power to the Vico and it flattened my battery :/

Actually yes, I had to move it over towards the passenger side a bit to avoid the mirror housing from being in frame.... well spotted mate

BTW do you know how to turn off the blackvue wifi from asking for a password everytime you it wants to connect to the phone.... it is a major pita

Actually I got lucky when plans we had for this weekend got cancelled otherwise would not have got to this until after next weekends cruise..

Hooked the Vico up to fuses that run along the top of the fuse box (Nos 1 to 12 I think) fuse 2 and 3 have constant power, fuses 7 and 9 have power when ignition is on. The way I worked it out was to hook the Vico and Blackvue up via the cigar socket connector and then used the yellow wire from the Vico on each fuse until I worked out which had power or all the time and which had power only with the ignition on.
Connected by wrapping wire around fuse but will replace this with proper fuse splitters as soon as I can

Ended up running the wires around the front of the dash and mounting the vico here (see pic)
Is tucked out of sight and makes it easy to turn the dash cam off and on via the main switch on the vico

I guess Ill find out in the morning if my battery is flat or not lol

I had another go at mine today, I worked out I had a fuse in the wrong slot in the fuse adaptor, it's all working now , I just haven't routed any of he cables, the cameras are in place though, so the next thing is to do that.

Did you have to drop the entire ceiling peice

And I've just noticed, when I get in and turn the car on, it says "Blackvue shutting down"

Then a few seconds later, "Blackvue for your safety"

It's like it turns off then back on in order to change from park mode to normal driving?

Does yours do that?

And dos you set a safety voltage on the Vico?

Yes... yes you do, if you want neat cabling and especially if you are installing rear dash cam

Here's my headliner DIY
