Riding is pretty much done for me until spring. We have had a few snows and temps are hovering around freezing. Worst part about living in Michigan is the 7 month period known as winter that starts some time in November most years.

Like Maine. 9 months of winter and 3 months of damn poor sleddin'.

I took a week off cycling and all physical activity besides walking while on vacation. And tbh I overindulged the whole time.

Went back on the bike this weekend and could barely complete a 40 mile ride. You lose it so fast…

I managed to squeak in a 15 mile ride today before it got dark. Mid-50's, so tolerable weather. Going to be fewer and fewer of those days for a while.

There's nothing like the real thing to keep up the tempo, an indoor bike is okay but it's not the same as being outside.

At least you have the warmer weather there.

I can get a decent workout on the trainer if I push it. Not as enjoyable as outside riding, but it's not freezing cold and there's no wind, so there's that.

Did 10 miles on the local roads today while trying out my new Bar Mitts for my straight handlebar hybrid bike. They worked as well as the Bar Mitts on my road bikes. Also trying x-country ski pants instead of bib tights. They also worked well. Had a pair of MTB liners under them. 31F here and I stayed toasty warm.

Waiting 'till the afternoon for my Sunday ride, currently about 0c now so only a brisk walk early morning with no one about.
Regular press ups and punch bag workouts during the day keep the tempo up for the coming rides.

Barely touched 5c but the usual 10 mi ride to the farm and back was fine, dressed up similar to you M_Six with under leggings, long sleeved Damart type undervest, gloves of course and a bandana neck gaiter.

The temps here are low in the 40F range, but the wind is 18-20MPH with higher gusts. No thanks. I did 18 inside on the trainer and may knock out another 12 tonight to hit my 100mile/week goal.

Topped 5000 miles today on my way to my goal of 5200 on the year. Should be easy enough to hit that.

Congrats on the mileage M_Six

I'm going batty with the travel schedule and cold weather. Exercise is falling off the table, to my chagrin.

I checked out a local rec center near my travel gig. Hope to get a session or two in next week. First priority is to ascertain my shoulder status from last winter's impingement in the pool. I'm going to do some weights and swim a 100 yards or so to give things a test drive.

The next two days are supposed to be sunny and in the low 60's. I plan on taking full advantage of that.

Mine is put away for the season. I've put my $25 garage sale find on the trainer. Might send to TREK for a Spa treatment or get a new one in the Spring.

That's the best thing that can happen to your nearly new garage find!
It looks fine but your Trek is the bees knees for those serious work outs on the roads and forests.

That garage find doesn't see any outdoor activities. Strictly indoors. I've put a road tire at back to minimize the noise.

The first thing I did when I got my Carrera was to swap to the road tyres from the off-roaders taking them from the last bike. Off on my walk now definitely, should give me an appetite for dinner later.
