You know what I mean. The mass of humanity and commerce that is 3 bars, 20 small shops, a train station, 1 starbucks and 1 carabu cafe.

Its small town enough for my hill billy ass can deal with while still having a couple nice places in walking distance.

1 bed + den place is going for $234,000 a couple blocks way from the train station and the places looking down on the train status are running $200 a sq foot with all types of empty units.

I would love to be able to stumble on a train on the weekend drunk, go down town drunk and ride back drunk with nothing but a note tapped to me with direction to union stations and directions to feed me.

Where do you work James? I know it's in the burbs but not sure where...Palatine actually has a pretty respectable downtown and also the NW metra line right there. There are a few larger condo buildings with garaged parking. Also not to far from I90 probably about 15min to get to the Roselle road interchange
