So, here is a question. What other things could be programmed in/out. Speed limiter is one. Anything else besides the standard stuff: EGR/DPF/SCR

I'm debating if I should leave the SCR intact. Does anyone have any thoughts for or against this one?

On my tdi when tuned, the tune raised or removed speed limiter, egr-dpf-scr, helped with shift points, in an auto car this feature is awesome, manual it does not need this, I believe this was just a by product of the tune not an actual feature, some tunes along with performance have the ability to add an eco tune with it for mpg help...

Better specify the removal of speed limiter several times if you want it gone..

So, I talked to JR --- here's the scoop, apologies if this is old-hat for some.

1 - Pipes have arrived
2 - CANNOT run the flashed ECU without installing the pipe --- is this correct? Assuming that the DPF would fill up and never get cleaned or something?
3 - He will cover ground shipping on the pipe, it will be shipped in a separate box.
4 - I will be electing for overnight shipping on the pipe (I will owe the difference) and overnight shipping on the ECU.

My ECU is opened up on JRs work bench waiting for files from Ecotune. Pipe and ECU are shipped in separate boxes as it is cheaper.

Heres the response i got when trying to order the new motor mount bolts from bmw south ATL:

"Hello,

We received a notification today from BMW that your part # 22 11 6 774 175 we are unable to order. This may be due to a back order or no longer available situation, but they will not allow us to order it. We will be removing that part from your order, refunding your payment, and continuing with the other part on the order. We apologize for this inconvenience.

Thank you"

Anybody know where we could get these????

I do not know where you got that part number, but it does not exist.
Here, check this out:
http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts...22&hg=22&fg=05

You will need 4 of #6 and 2 of #7.

Can't put steel bolts into an aluminum/magnesium alloy block. Different expansion ratio with heat, your steelies will pop out eventually.

ok.i spoke to bmw south atl on phone and the guy did clarify that the part i ordered was superceded by the one shown on real oem but would still have to ship from germany.sucks!! he did say that normally parts are noted if they are one time use only but neither one of the ones i ordered stated such.wonderin if we even really need to replace any of these bolts??

just noticed too that part #7 only goes through the reinforcement plate into the rubber mount.its only part 6 that goes into the block.

07129903799, but it shows ended, so 07129903076 may be a newer pn. I got the 799 one from Tischer.

Are yours steel also like mentioned in thread? Also anyone had the idea of buying a DDE as a stock software spare?

I can check when I get home. They did not look like steel.

Spare DDE is an expensive proposition. Easier to reflash to stock if you need.

This is getting entertaining. I order from Tischer back on May 6th. I tried to order the item 6 only and theyalso said in was superceded but to different number than Yozh. (07129903976). I got them in about 4 days.

Item 7 I just ordered last Friday and those are on natinal back order. I didn't get a superceded notoce but was told it would be 2 to 3 weeks coming from Germany.

I think we are overdoing this. 2deer reused all of the OEM bolts and it is working fine. My plan is to attempt to reuse the #7s until replacements arrive. I will change out the #6 as i have them.

TDI mentioned getting new bolts because he feels they are stretch bolts. The 10 mm ones are pretty beefy (engine bracket). The smaller 8mm ones are long at 80 mm. They are the ones I'm concerned with wimping out.

For the record, the 10mm ones I don't think are aluminum. I think they are SS. they are too heavy but the magnet says they are not magnetic. So, either SS or aluminum.

Not a bad idea but wow that would be expensive. Only way perhaps would be if you could get one from a salvage car for a couple hundred (guessing now).
MSRP is $1535. Tischer lists it for $1247.89 . here is link to BMW of atlanta where i got part number. I couldn't find it on realoem.
http://parts.bmwofsouthatlanta.com/p...618513135.html

Before i joined the 10, i asked how would we get back to stock programming. Redline says $50 labor to go back as they store your OEM code "in the cloud". I hope to not have to do this but thought when car needs to be sold that this could be a sticking point.

Yeah it might be an expensive way of doing it but having a spare that can be swapped and calibrated for ews in minutes instead of the down time of getting shipped to and from redline seems more feasible not including the shipping costs
