Does yours do that?

And dos you set a safety voltage on the Vico?

Nope mine does not do that
Have you got both the power on and power only on start connected?
I set my voltage cutout at 11.4, the Vico cut the power to the Blackvue and the default setting of 12v so I had to lower it
Normal and park mode seems to be working perfectly including the wifi connection. Is pita to remove the SSD card to transfer footage to PC

Yeah well I think I have both fuses connected, how would I diagnose it.

The cams are still powered when the car is off, I can connect via wifi etc and see the LED indicators flashing.

When I get in and turn the car on, it powers off then back on after about 30 seconds.

Must be the ignition only power source? I'll have. A look at the fuses tomorrow.

No idea, it reads the voltage live and shows you onscreen?

Hey mate, I've got a blackvue 600 (I think, front cam only) installed on an SQ5 and it does the exact same thing. I'm pretty sure this is normal!

PS: this is with the extended recording mode module (no idea what it's called, but it records for like 2 hours after the car has been shut off whenever movement is sensed)

Weirddd mine has been like this forever and it seems to be functioning fine! That being said, I only notice it after extended periods of time - Ie in the morning after the camera has supposedly cut off.

Mine does it every time, when I know for a fact that it's been power when the car is off.

I jump in, the first thing it does is tell me it's turning off lol

Not sure I have the yellow wire connect to power on ignition and red wire to constant power. The Vico cuts power to the blacvue on a timer, low voltage or high temp. You can change these settings in the menu. For the blackvue to power off on ignition my guess is you are tripping the low voltage trigger which by default is 12v set it lower and see if the problem goes away

ill give it a go but the voltage fluctuates between 13.8-14.0 when the ignition is on.

It works but it's not right, it misses the first 30 seconds of a drive and I have to listen to it speak two times, every time I start the car, it's going to get annoying

Ok I found the cause.

The Vico power plus has a default setting that will force a reboot with every acc on.

Page 25 of the user manual.

Switch this to off and it provides continuous power through an engine start.

The guide says it does this by default to force an initialisation of the dashcam which does a self check on start up, my guess is that this would work fine for the Vico dash cams but the Blackvue isn't designed to do this.

Ok back to the build

MOD 43 Dinan CF Air Intake

Was lucky enuf to buy this from Scootar, he even dropped it around (what a top bloke)

Wasn't sure if this would fit with the aftermarket CP, inlets and BOV under the hood, but luckily everything wrapped around each other perfectly

Install was not as complicated as expected, required removing the front bumper and the CP to get to the back inlet, then relocating the power steering canister and OCC to get everything to clear the airbox and pipes.

The VTT inlets plug into the bottom of the stock air box and the front air scoop feed into the side of the air box. It has two filters, a drop in filter which is inside the airbox and a cylindrical filter that sits in front of the passenger side wheel.

Luckily my M3 air ducts needed only a little trimming but work perfect with the duct directing air onto the cylindrical filter (bonus)

Looks wise, a big improvement over the CIAs, although it will be a PITA to remove the CP and stuff next time I need to get to the manifold etc.... small price to pay

For those wondering about the colour in the pics, it looks like its made from a carbon fiber / kevlar weave as it has interlacing black and yellow threads, guess that also means it's bullet proof lol .... enjoy

Pics 1 to 4 - Before and after
Pic 5 - Ready for install
Pic 6 - Half way through
Pics 7 & 8 - Close up of how things fit together
Pic 9 - Almost done
Pic 10 - Front bumper back on

That's a sexy intake, does it still have. Filter in the air on or just the cone on the end?

Are you going to remove the stock air intake shroud? Or keep them for scroop air intake goodness?
