Almost certainly G99M5 referenced the point of fact that Ricciardo received a bag of money as trade-off to untimely end his McLaren contract, as McLaren wanted him to move over for 'new-kid-in-town-snatched-away-for-free-from-procrastinating-Alpine' Oscar Piastri.

So Ricciardo got McLaren money for no 2023 services + will get Red Bull money for 2023 services.

His only good move in F1 so far since leaving RB. I’m hoping he gets another chance with them in 24. I’d be pretty surprised if RB extended Checo past 23. But, a lot of things can happen in a year so who knows.

I agree it's very suspicious from Checo but like anyone in F1 there can be a magazine of explanations to use, this is all echo'ing on young F1 fans who are just coming on taking an interest in F1..
