They don't have it, at least not on BMW's cars meant for import into North America. Either MB330's car has been programmed for Euro spec (unlikely) or he's thinking of holding the comfort access ridges rather than the key fob button, in which case it does roll up windows and close sunroof for all years -- 06, 07, 08, and 09. The one difference for 06 is that the mirrors will fold in, too. This feature was deleted for 07 and later.

Yes, only North America doesn't have it, due to our litigation happy society. Can you imagine how many lawsuits there would be with pinched fingers, noses and necks?!

Yeah, on a system that (supposedly) has autoreverse on each of these openings.

For those of us with Steptronic, it's impossible to over-rev the engine during downshifting. If you were to try, the requested gear would be displayed for a few seconds only to revert you back to the gear you currently are in.

I dont know if everyone knows this but if you take the key out of the fob and put it in the lock to lock it and hold it, it will close the sunroof and windows. And close them vice versa

I guess that relates to not being able to do it with the fob. They don't want you to activate convenient close (i think thats what its called?) and then walk away while the windows are still rolling up.

P.S. OK, I just run to the garage and check. If car is lock and I press and hold unlock button - it's open all windows and sunroof (unfold mirrors if they was fold). Pressing lock button did not close windows and sunroof , but holding locking spot on door handle will close all windows, sunroof and fold mirrors. Sorry for miss information.

All 3 series and M3 from 3/09 production no longer have the mechanical key unlock for the trunk.
So, if your battery dies you cannot open the trunk. If you have ski pass-thru, you can reach through from the back seat and pull the emergency release. If not, you cannot get into the trunk at all until you charge the battery or use jumper cables. |

Hmmm, aren't ALL buttons touch-sensitive? You touch them and they "do" something.

Most buttons are like women. They require you to do a bit more than just touch them. Most of the time you have to push them.

The "touch-sensitive-ness" of the buttons I believe just shows you what is stored within that button. I think you still have to push the button in though.

not actually pressing the button in to select but just brushing the buttons will show stored content on screen.

this is the most annoying feature when going to and from the mountains in the winter. California mountains are always just borderline freezing in the winter, so you're driving along... get into a valley and car says, "*BING* it's cold!" Drive out of the valley, temps go back up, drive into another valley, car goes "*BING* it's cold!" Over and over again! *pulls out hair*
