I have an 07 auto I had zero install issues when i installed like 2 weeks ago. I updated yesterday to the latest firmware and It does feel to be stronger and pull harder.

Also I had the previous updated version prior to this one and i did feel the surge or the continued jump after lifting out of the throttle. After having the flash for like 5 days i added AR dp's and a CP-e FMIC and the surge appeared to be gone could the add ons have really helped or coincidence?

Well like i said newest flash i think feels great and strong but i can only compare against Dinan stg1 and this is a beast compared to that also love the dp's and fmic add's the car stays much cooler now.

I note the two complaints about these (throttle response and thottle lift off), but outside of this, both maps drove great. So what reason do you have to ward them completely off 2.02?

My experience, 2007 335i 6sd manual, 93 Octane

Map 2.00 = Feels pretty good, lift off throttle issue, minor though
Map 2.01 = Crazy surge at 40% throttle log shows full throttle
Map 2.02 = Very similar to 2.01 crazy surge
Map 2.02 V1 = 0-80% throttle, car felt stock power then 80-100% power comes on mildly
Map 2.02 V2 = Felt same as V1

I did some logs with the 2.02 V1 to test the throttle accuracy. Tried cruising at 30%, 40% throttle. It seems between 40% to 80% throttle is the same.

caradd,

You should send all of your logs and experience feedback from the beta maps to Cobb. It will help them fine tune them.

I only felt the mid band surge the first time I flashed. I switched to 91 v201 and it was smooth, went back to 93 v201 and it has been very linear. I wonder if there is a pattern with the cars feeling it because I know I'm not anymore.

I switched from 93 V201 to 91 V201. I love the smoothness of the 91 map. On the other hand, 93 is really fun btw.

Just something to think about:

I highly recommend that everyone drives their car a bit after they switch maps. According to Cobb, every time you switch maps, the ECU adaptations are erased. So basically the car has to relearn everything about its environment: fuel type, driver style, temps, etc etc.

I don't think that switching the maps and driving around the block will give you an adequate assessment of how well the map is doing for your car.

I wanna do 2 dyno pulls to compare Stage 1 91 octane to the stock map. I guess I should do my first pull with the already loaded Stage 1-91 tune and then switch over to my stock map. What do you guys suggest?

No. I recommend driving around AFTER each time you switch maps.

Did you see my post to you regarding this? While the ECU does get reset there is no adaptation needed.

That is strange because i've gotten an email from Rob@Cobb before and he told me to drive the car around for a bit after switching maps because the car needs to adapt. This was way in the beginning when i was one of the first people to post up logs.

Does that answer your question? Please let me know if you have futher queries!"

Sound like to me adaptation is not required or even possible?
I asked them directly on their own forum:

Yep I see your question on the forum answered by Travis.

Your post.

And Travis' answer to another post.

Perhaps someone from Cobb can clear this up.

I want to confirm, after updating my firmware the automatic map loaded on my AP is the 2.01 91 Octane? Or is it version 2.0

I want to know what Im' putting in my car before the install. If it is not 2.01, how do I download 2.01?

With 2.01 if the pedal is all of the way down, do you still get more power then if it was 40% down with the Surge???

Dude, update your AP to the latest Beta Firmware. There is a check box. Then plug it in your car.

It will connect, once that is confirmed it will ask you what map you want to install. You can scroll through the maps that are installed on your AP.

Go here and click on the Calibration Tab halfway down the page to get difference maps.

The 2.02 maps are not available here you have to ask for them via email. To get the 2.00 maps simple replace the 201 maps in the link to 200.

There, I did your homework for you. Now go do it
