Anyone into NASCAR? I'm not really, but they've got a pretty good deal going on at RIR on Sep 7th. Here's the link:
http://www.rir.com/Vanity-Pages/Car-Corral.aspx I'm thinking about going and wanted to see if anyone else was interested. I'll probably head up with a buddy from work who's into NASCAR a lot more than I am, but $75 for 2 tickets to the race, 2 Pit Passes and track laps day on Sep 29th...I'm thinking that's enough for me to bite. Anyone else?

Welcome Justin! Always nice to see new faces. We don't have any meets scheduled yet but I was thinking of setting up a end of summer meet soon.

So this is a random question. Does anyone have a JB that I could rent for a weekend? I know, kinda crazy, but I've been thinking about getting one for a long time and have always been a little nervous if it would cause any issues with my car. Well, I'm going to Richmond international raceway and I figure that would be the perfect time to test it out. I have an 08 e90. It's a long shot, but I figured I would try.

Rob, I do some basic coding but don't have a cable right now. What is it that you're looking to code?

import, thanks for the info? What do you think about the JB+? I see a couple for sale on the black market. I think it might be a good place for me to start, I don't have any other mods and don't plan on doing much else, so I feel like the JB4 or COBB would be a little overkill.

So my .02... Actually if you have a N54 engine I have a PROcede that I'll sell you. Same, if not more advanced than the JB4. Piggy back tune like the JB4/JB+. I can't use it on my N55

please do not get the JB+...many a folks have regretted getting that. just spend a little more and get the full JB4 so you can enjoy all the features. or get the latest and greatest OpenFlash Tablet....you don't even have to dig into the DME box to install...just flash through the OBD2 |

I mean, I knew that painting my calipers would look good, but I think it made a big difference.

Sgm coupe at onelife the other day. Had an avant garde lic plate frame and what I'm assuming are the wheels.
Also ran into a nice white sedan turning into the blvd from Newtown. Had a cobb lic plate frame. I like the ride height. I was in the coupe. |

I went with a yellow... I used a high temp clear to make cleaning easier.

Materials used: paper bags/ newspaper, masking tape, plastic bags, soap/water, wire brush, sponge, towel, heat gun/blow dryer, hi temp paint, hi temp clear, I just did one at a time without taking the caliper off. Turn the wheel left or right to expose the caliper as much as possible. 1. Use a wire brush and sponge with soap and water and clean the caliper as best as you can. I used a clean rag to dry the caliper so I could tell if I left any dust. I used a heat gun to ensure that the caliper was completely dry. 2. Mask the fenders using paper bags and newspaper. I used large plastic bags cut open to mask under the wheel well. I also used plastic bags to mask my rotor. 3. Then use the blue masking tape to mask the brake nipples and any covers you don't want painted. 4. I used hi temp engine paint and started with a light coat and continued to apply even coats to cover the caliper. 4-5 coats let dry. 5. I had BMW stickers that i applied after the paint was dry. 6. Use the hi temp clear coat to bring out the shine and make it easier to clean. 4-5 coats. let dry I started early in the morning on a nice day and ended early evening. Prep is the most important part. Good luck. wash the car when you're done to get any over spray off.
