You are absolutely right about failures often has to do with the way ppl are using their cars.
Here's a link to a PDF I found at ZF with information of the autoboxes in the E9x cars.
https://www.dropbox.com/s/zxs5bkeich...tic.pdf?v=0mcn
According to http://bmwfans.info/parts/catalog/E9...rbox_ga6hp19z/
It's a version capable of only 400Nm......hmmm

i use my cars 90% on forrest roads where i mostly overtake other cars, lorries, tractors etc, it makes for good use to have great pull/power in the car. I mostly did this for myself so I can make safe and fast take overs on 70km/h to 90km/h serpentine roads without risking to much.

Why confused. I never said which setup nor which strip, I doubt you were at this particular racemeet which i had in mind where he drove with cars such as lambos, porsches, ferraris, bentleys, bmw M-models, AMGs, a lot of the cars were russian registrated. Almost like a TOP GEAR airfield. You can only be invited to be able to come and to be invited you need a car that can deliver...

400nm? That is really weird as that is how much the car has off the factory. The autogearboxes are always said to have a longer life time than manual.
I had troubles reading out that german text.

That the same bullshit as manufacturer tells you that a automatic gearbox seldoms (or even never)needs to be serviced. I change oil and gaskets every 60.000km and i always exchange OEM magnet to a greater one, i always do this on all my cars that i ever owned no matter what a manufacturer or service book tells me.

I have owned 6 different AMG's, all with different ages and km's, some i bought with 180.000km and added easy 60.000km on most of my cars in just a year. Never had a issue during my years going with this care.
I even owned the RS6 V8 BiTurbo with Automatic, these being famous for autogearbox issues where i drove it HARD for 90.000km with no issues what so ever.

I will stick to my saying where a lot if not ALL is up to the ENDuser how that particular personen uses his car, cares and services it.

@Maso
Maybe we should take this discussion to another thread. This one is for pictures and videos.... :-)

We should move the discussion to another thread under a proper section.

Maso, I'm guessing that you're talking about Christer's 335d ("Dieselkungen/Ghost Rider) from Gbg. Here's his 1/4 http://www.garaget.org/video/125975 @ 13,42sek. His car isn't in the same range as lambos nor ferraris to start with. Need to come down to at least low 11's.

"Im planning on mounting a custom 3" catback aftermarket exhaust from FERITTA and a bigger IC as well next summer which should give me the same effect as my friends 335d e92."
- a 3" catback exhaust will prob give you about 10-15hp (more likely a favorable weight reduction that gains in terms of hp) and a larger FMIC some 20-30hp if your lucky. So it will not take you anywhere near 410hp as your friends 335d...

You should take the discussion further on autopower.se where you'll find prob 99% of the better tuned BMWs in Sweden. And it's likely that some of these guys were invited to the event your talking about. If you do, post the link here and we can keep discussing speed and hp, and credibility.

That has to be a joke right there, from someone who is spitting out WILD power claims and doesn't know what a 1/4mile is

Yes Gustavs GTBoard events. I'm not saying that 335d haven't got potential but everyone exept he's fanboys at garaget.org want some proof of it being the "Worlds Meanest 335d" backed up by one of Swedens biggest tuners, but all he got is dynocheets and a 13.4s run. If you are close to beat a m5 e60 at a event like that it seems like an awsome thing to have on video, just saying....

Sorry for OT guys

I am getting ready to go an Mtech rear bumper conversion on my 07 wagon. Is the bumper the same as the sedan? Sure looks like it.
