Agreed.... we took a drive to Las Vegas this winter and about every fifteen minutes that damn thing would beep when the temp dropped back down. Each time my wife would jump and ask if something was wrong.

I seen it mentioned but I can't seem to find it or don't likey have it on my '07 328xi.

It's on the preset selection buttons? Touched there for a few seconds and nothing happens on the screen...have to press down on the button to select it.

So then the only way to get in the car is the use of the mechanical key to unlock the driver's side door to release the hood?

Discovered this tonight - my 335i with steptronic, in D, will automatically downshift 2 gears when driving down a steep hill.
I was driving nice and easy, over a crest and then down a steep hill and all the sudden my transmission kicked down 2 gears, putting rpm at about 5k until the hill ended.

Something you probably don't know.

If your sunroof is not responding correctly you can reset it! Push and hold the sunroof button up towards the sky for 20-30 seconds, sit back and watch in amazement! lol

Wow...they're really starting to go overboard on the cost cutting. I'm still disapointed I can't start the car with a mechanical key (I sometimes park somewhere with a lot of radio interference where the key is not detected).

But....if someone has a dead battery, they'll need a jump. Where do you think they put their jumper cables?

If they want to do this, they should have a retractable jumper cable reel built into the car somewhere.

Wow. Had fun reading all of the traction control arguments? That took me days to try to get through, I kept getting frustrated but didn't want to miss anything, just in case there was something amazing. There wasn't. Well, the key removal and turn back on your car for non CA was interesting.

I once managed to start the car by pressing the start/stop button BEFORE inserting the key, and once the key was inserted it started right away. oO

Or is this what you've all been talking about? :]

hey I was wondering when it rains and say you forgot to close the windows do the windows go up by them selves?

I was thinking about it after my friend told me she had to run to her car to close them in a crazy ass t storm and I lied to make my car seem uber cool by saying my windows close automatically if it rains.

now does it really happen?

seeing how there is a rain sensor on the windshield.

Nope, this is regarding if you turn of your car (keeping door closed), pull out the key and hit start again, the car will turn back on.

umm... Is this post tongue in cheek or serious? If serious, I'm going to be nice and just say no.

Not necessarly so, my 05-9, E93, has the mechanical key unlock underneath the handle, next to where you touch to open the trunk.
